Pray for Almond

Hi everyone,
Thanks for being such a great resource and community over the years.
Almond had a stroke last night, I took him to the vet who identified the thrombus. His left leg has lost circulation.
We are believing in him and hoping the medication the vet is giving him will dissolve the thrombus.
I’m sharing this because only people on here can understand the bond we have with our Sphynx babies.
From what I understand, the best case scenario is circulation return to both legs, or one leg (and one amputated). And worst case, he doesn’t make it.
Almond is 10 years old. It would be a miracle if he pushes through this and miraculously have both legs back to normal.
Please let me know if anyone has dealt with a certain stroke situation. And please pray for almond.

My first sphynx miraculously survived several thrombosis embolisms and regained use of her rear legs within a minute or two.
I have had 3 others with clots , various outcomes, I had a heart to heart chat with my vet for each of them for their specific circumstances

Thank you for sharing your experiences and for your kind wishes and love, it means the world. The story of your babies gives me so much hope. I went to visit him today and his foot was less purple and seemed to be able to feel them when I pressed. The vet was optimistic (yesterday he gave almond 30% survival rate based on the edema in his lungs and the thrombus) but today he gave me hope as well. His lungs cleared up without any meds. Your support and prayers, and the Lair mean so much to me. I will keep you posted on his status tomorrow and thank you thank you thank you so much ❤️

Thank you all so much for this incredible support. I’m so grateful to report that Almond is now at home with me He survived the worst of it and now we’re just working on getting his nerve endings in his back paws to be responsive. Thankfully he can move his legs but can’t walk until his toes wake up hopefully soon. Almond and his health are such big blessings. Thank you all so so much and I’ll continue to update you as he gets better. Your prayers are working!!
