Many know that Macie Mae is my adopted bengal at around 1 1/2 yrs olds and is now 14 yrs 7 mos old.
She is the last remaining of my original crew of pups and kitties.
She is my OG warrior princess.
She has been CKD for 5 yrs, has IBD since I got her. Earlier this year, blood work, vet visit for howling her kidney disease advanced 3+ and her thyroid was fine. The howling was high blood pressure related to CKD vet also suspects lymphoma
. She is like pilling a badger but her and I get it done.. she gets budesonide for her gut and amlodipine for high blood pressure. no more vomiting since started on budesonide.
This morning took her in for a follow up, quality of life assessment.
I use vetstix 11 test strips for my crew of pups and kitties and has been darn close to labwork. I saw positive for blood in urine on test strip and raised leukocytes. and appears to have lost a little more weight even thought she is active , eats great and plays with the dogs all the time. she does not hide. Never would know she is so sick inside. I told my vet earlier this year I know it is palliative care.
Today had the senior panel blood work done, a cystio urine draw to rule out UTI. No UTI but blood in urine.
Vet also said she know has a new diagnosis today of a grade 2 heart murmur
No doubt related to her advanced kidney disease. Kidney disease advancing and heart issues have a correlation as well as high blood pressure.
Today my vet examined her and said she had a lot of spunk in her when they did the cystocentesis for urine. They were not able to get enough to send to the idexx lab so vet ran it in office from the sample (which is usually cost more than sending out but she did not charge me more for it). she has concentrated urine and ph 6. expected worse for her advanced kidney disease. she is a warrior. She eats and drinks good and gets 2 5 oz cans of weruva press your lunch mixed with water a day.
*My vet told me today is not the day for angel wings.
yes, she has lost 1/4- 1/2 lb this year and still obviously has quality of life, eating good, playing with the dogs( she thinks she is a dog lol prefers dogs company over the nakids or Raven).
So, blood work results, T4 thyroid results back tmrw . My vet usually calls me after hours to give test results.

Praying for more good days together and my christmas present wish to have her in my life ..quality vs. quantity..
