Prayers please for my mom's Jefferey cat

Prayers please for my mom's Jefferey cat, 13 yrs old,. only cat and is her whole world.
This morning she called me that he is lethargic, increased respiration rate, just off and just laying on the bed like in pain difficult turning around and won't get off bed to go eat etc.
Got him in to my (our vet) right away this morning and saw my usual vet Dr Jackson.
Jefferey has an elevated temp 102.4, did lose 2 lbs over the past yr, no open mouth breathing but does have increased respiration rate, hard to detect accurate as so much purring.
back home now ...

sigh, gut feeling to call back vets office with a question...
I called back vets office asked if they did a cystio to get his urine as part of the "senior" panel cbc blood work.. vet tech called back apologizing she overlooked it to check his bladder get draw urine... soo as my luck would have it.. headed back to my moms to get jefferery and bring back to the vet for a check of bladder to get urine sample to send out or will have to try with an Idexx zorb kit at home..

@Catzzzmeow ,went back to vet (the vet tech forgot to get urine sample).. they were able to get a urine sample via cystio..even with his small bladder ( cystio's are utrasound guided )
he was such a good boy. I asked them to recheck breathing rate... once again... breathing rate at 70! and purring loudly, no open mouth breathing.

Took him and my mom back home. I counted respiration rate with him on my moms bed, he was laying down.
he was purring away and got 60-70 bpm still

My mom does not know how to check breathing rate which obviously would be more accurate when he is just sleeping and not awake purring...

please keep Jefferey in your thoughts and prayers ... 2025 has already been a rough one..

thank you for the lair prayers.. Jefferey feeling better today but my mom doesnt know how to count respiration rates... awaiting blood work results from vet tonight. I am praying not a heart episode

update: Jefferey is feeling back to normal... vet called and said his blood work is purrfect! not sure why he was so ill the other day..
will take the good news.. lairs prayers answered..thank you all!!! hugs n head smooches

thank you for the continued lair prayers for Jefferey. He had another off day on Sunday and did not eat in 2 days or want any of his treats. Yesterday he was back to his normal self and ate. I am worried it may be heart related off days. Mom said will take him in for a chest xray if it happens again. his blood work was perfect so not sure what is going on with sweet Jefferey

@tontiangel , @Toa and Ross and all, thank you... update on Jefferey, he is eating again and acting normal except this morning my mom said he fell off the counter after drinking is water out of his dish by the sink in the spare bathroom. I asked my mom to keep an eye out for any incoordination going forward

Indeed hope its a one off. Maybe while watching for missteps, put the bowl down lower. As the Queen of Slip and Fall, I fear the discomfort of midair surprises (and for me the bruises).
