Hey! What is your go to harness/leash combo that you use and recommend for our sphynx babies. Is there a better brand that is better for kittens vs ones not to use?

I use the PetSafe come with me kitty harness. I think most pet stores carry these. I don't use the leash though. I bought a 12' tie out lead and use that to give her more leeway when we are in safe areas. This harness also fits great under clothing and it adjusts

@Luna112 great question ! Kudos to you for researching

Tagging @Catzzzmeow for the voyager harness info
@Sheofthrone3 , @k9guy et all for their harness suggestions
I can’t recommend the Kitty Holster enough, it is by far the best cat harness I have seen. Our cat Gimli is a Therapy Cat and he goes everywhere on leash. They are extremely comfortable and I would say 99% escape proof, providing you measure your cat and get the proper size.

Here is a link for their site and a picture of Gimli in his.

I make the harnesses for our guys. They’re based loosely on harnesses I saw for sale on the net, a couple of ones we bought and my observations. I look for comfort, relative ease to put on, and safety. All my harnesses have Velcro and harness clips, because some cats (I’m looking at you, Marcus) seem to be able to undo Velcro.
Marcus being fitted for his monogrammed jacket. Cleo has a matching jacket.

I used this harness as well, but I used it over his shirts. It seemed to be comfortable for him.

@Luna112 Just a word of caution—be very careful when putting harnesses over clothing. The layer of clothing under the harness will loosen the harness and make it easier for the cat to escape. Also, if the harness is tightened over a wrinkle in the clothing, it could cause a sore spot if the cat wears it for a long time.

Any cat can get out of any harness. We took Cleopatra out on her harnesses almost every week for the first 6 years of her life. About 3 years ago, I had her in her favorite harness, that was really well-fitted and that she had never escaped from. That day, I decided to have her walk out of the house, instead of using her stroller, as she was used to doing. I opened the front door, and urged her to go out, and she stopped, wiggled a little, and was out of that harness and back in the house before I could even move or say anything. So now, we still take both cats out in harnesses, but we are really aware that they can escape whenever they are scared, and we use precautions, like keeping their strollers with them as safe places, and being really careful to watch for other animals of scary things.

I think it important to ensure a good fit, and to never get too confident. We have to remember that kitties are escape artists and tend to flee when spooked. Find what works best for you and your baby; then proceed with caution.
