I would not hesitate to use Better in the raw. always heard good things about. it. I just have a super. picky dry food addict

I use Alnutrin. I buy it directly from the company - their website is knowwhatyoufeed.com
I don't think you can go wrong with either brand but there are a couple of things worth noting.
1. With Alnutrin, your recipe must use liver. The Know Better product (formerly known as BITR) does not require liver.
2. Also Alnutrin has different premixes for meat with bones, as well as for boneless meat. The Know Better product is only for boneless meat.
Someone mentioned Hare Today. They sell PRE-GROUND meat with bones and organs, as well as a plain boneless meat. Since they both come ground already, you don't have to do anything except add water and the premix. You will need a kitchen scale that measures to the nearest gram.
If you buy from Hare Today (or for that matter anyone that has to ship the food to you), it helps to have a small extra freezer so you can order more at one time and save on shipping. Don't buy raw food at the grocery store unless it's frozen; avoid the stuff that's sitting in the refrigerated cases because it's already growing bacteria.

I'm anal about ingredients from China but these days certain things can only be bought from China - amino acids for example (including taurine). Japan used to produce taurine also, but when they had their nuclear disaster in 2011 those factories were shut down. Anyway look closely at the packaging; the supplement could be made in the USA but with some Chinese ingredients. They are sneaky like that.

I ended up ordering EZComplete premix because it includes eggshell and egg yolk and liver. I just add boneless meat. I think it’s a safe way to start and I will order meat from hare today .
do I just add one kind of protein? For example just ground duck for one week and maybe just ground chicken the next week? If I order chicken pieces how does the premix work on that? Does it just stick to the pieces of meat?

If you order chicken pieces yes it will be legs and wings and such. My advice is to get it ground. You said your supplement has eggshell so you just want to have ground muscle meat.

You could feed ground duck one week and ground chicken the next or whatever else. I make 2 different things and alternate meals but that's just me.
When you're starting out, feed just one protein for a few weeks. If there are no problems, introduce a second protein. The idea is to give it enough time to make sure that your cat doesn't have an issue with a certain protein and you only know that if you feed just the one.
I only feed ground. Honestly I'm not sure if you're even supposed to supplement whole parts. My understanding is with parts you rotate through a lot of different things and that is how you achieve balance. I think it also has to do with the break down of nutrients from grinding. I always thought whole bones are more for larger dogs that can chew through the bones so I never bothered to learn much about it. Plus choking....I don't want the worry.
