Hello everyone,
I have decided to feed my naked kitty (when i get one, soon lets hope) the raw food diet. I believe i read somewhere that you shouldn't feed them commercial meats. My question is where do you get your meat from and what different types of meats are ok to feed our kitties/cats?

I use My Pet Carnivore--google them to find out if they deliver to your area. You can feed your kit anything that would be part of its natural food chain. But you can also use goat, lamb, ostrich, beaver, beef, a small amount of fish, goose, etc. Just make sure you follow a recipe or add supplements so your kit gets all it needs--bones, muscle meat and organ meat. You can also search the forum section an raw food feeding here on the Lair.

Just checked out My Pet Carnivore, wow they have a large selecion. Looks like a great meat source for my to-be-kitty. But why only small amounts of fish?

Susi,
Do you know of any other good raw food suppliers?
I checked on My Pet Carnivore, and they do not deliver to my area.
The shipping charges are going to make this too expensive, I might need to purchase a grinder and do it myself.

Thanks.

Feline Instincts sells a good mix that you add your own meat to, and then you also have to add salmon oil--which they sell on thei website--it's called My Natural Cat if you want to add your own liver, or My Natural Cat with Liver Powder. The big one will feed a cat for about 4 1/2 months. I just added two lbs. of ground turkey that I bought from the store. My cats love it. So I keep some on hand if I run out of meat from My Pet Carnivore. It was the kind of raw I started mine out on and they loved it right from the get go.
