Anyone have any raw recipes?

Also, those that make their own raw mixes, do you add vitamin supplements to it? I have some Platinum Performance Feline that I was thinking about adding to the mix so it provides a balanced diet.

We just made the transition to raw - since I live in a village, far from any sort of civilization (much less decent grain-free, high protein cat food... Europe is absolutely terrible when it comes to healthy, nutritious pet food - but that's another story!), we decided to go raw. It's actually a lot cheaper to do it ourselves, and even though my husband and I are both vegetarian, we suffer through it and cut and prepare his meals.

I know there's a formula for what they need exactly, and Susi is an expert on that, so she'll probably be able to fill in the blanks better. But so far, we've been giving him a mixture of about 60% chicken breast, 15% chicken liver, and 15% chicken stomachs, cut into small pieces. We're planning on buying a meat grinder because slicing up chicken parts into tiny pieces is just about the worst thing ever for 2 veggies, but until we get around to that, this seems to be working out quite well. I supplement with a cranberry papaya liquid (with added taurine) that aids digestion, and Honest Kitchen's Perfect Form to help with any tummy issues he might have. So far, everything has been going great!

We've thought about making a simple "gravy broth" and just boiling some bones + leftover meat + fat to add to the raw diet, since he's a big fan of the "goo" in the Wellness and Weruva foods, but we haven't gotten that far yet. I'm curious to see what everyone else's recipes are!

btw, Thanks for the suggestion on the supplement - I'm definitely going to check it out. I'm looking for an all purpose one to add just to make sure he's getting everything!

I always add supplements to Hudson's food. Some prepackaged raw companies will add their own. I know Natures Variety Instincts adds a lot to the food. The supplements I use currently are Grizzly Salmon Oil, NuCat, and Bee Pollen. Their are few others i'm looking into right now tho.

Back when Minus was on raw, I was buying 5lbs of ground chicken (meat, organs, and bone) and making a recipe I found online and modding it a bit, as well was meaty bones.

I used this recipe as a guideline and added some chunks of meat for gnawing.

All this info is so overwhelming but great. I'm looking into it alot and this site made alot of sence. I myself hate eating meat cos I have no idea where it has been and come from and it has taken me a very long time 2 find healthy safe food 4 my 3 dogs. So I'm goin 2 b changing alot of things straight away. My dogs eat chicken necks and they love them my picky sphynx loves his tin food so I will see how things go :Laugh:

Hudson gets meaty bones twice a week, as well as his meals. His meals are not mixed..it's plain meat, organ etc. Currently he is on Urban Carnivore, however im looking at trying to find a reputable butcher where I can purchase everything myself to make.
