My hearts broken to have to post this. This is Dobby.
(Aka dibbles, dobs, dibby, or baaabby <3)
Location : south central Montana. I’m in belfry but he is living with his breeder in Billings for reasons I will discuss below.

Price: asking the max rehoming fee of $250. Also I can not travel or pay for any travel expenses so that would be on the new family to cover.

About Dobby :
Personality : he’s slow to warm up but he LOVES to cuddle and be petted. He gets the cookies and will run like a mad man around the house in between sleeping in the sunniest window he can find.

Dislikes : children , dogs, having his feet or belly touched most other cats.

Likes: laser lights! Large pompoms, crinkly ball toys,

Food: Dobby has a sensitive stomach. Food changes need to be done very slowly.
He currently eats AUTHORITY sensitive skin turkey and stomach along with authority turkey pate. His breeder is feeding him other stuff as well currently and says he is doing good though.

Forgot to add : he is neutered , microchipped, and utd on all vaccinations. All his medical records can and will be made available to the new owners

Back ground: Dobby has had some health concerns. As a kitten he was sick with something the vets couldn’t give me a solid answer. We got him better and he had been healthy with zero concerns until October when he had a bout of pancreatitis. The vets ( we saw several during this) all said from the various kinds of scans and imaging that 1) there was no damage visible to his pancreas from this. 2) his heart lungs and everything else look perfect. He had a full blood panel with a Pro-BNP done to evaluate heart function just incase. Everything came back perfect except for his pancreas stuff which was confirmed with the scans.
Dobby has been healthy since he recovered from that early November.

Reason for rehoming:
Dobby is my fur baby. I’m absolutely heartbroken over this….. Dobby came to me when I had a very little baby. My youngest son. And two toddlers. Dobby grew very attached to me. I am his person. But that meant he became jealous of my baby which only got worse. It started just swatting at my son if he got to close to Dobby. Then Dobby started nipping.

So the middle of January i was outside and my husband turned his back for a second to do dishes. Dobby bit my little boy in the face and that was the last straw. His breeders contract states he was to return to her in the event of needing to be rehomed and she will be a mediator to help with that. Plus she has the space currently to separate him while I do not.

*** special info***

Dobby loves adults once he settles in. He is already loving up on his breeder but does not like children.
** The home can not have children under 15 ish.**
He is doing well now that he’s past his quarantine and being allowed around other animals. But in my experience he doesn’t act right with younger smaller cats. He acts dominant and constantly bit at my kitten. But he would cuddle him too.

* preferably a no other pet home but may do well with a very slow intro to a non combative adult cat*. No dogs. He does not like dogs.

And most importantly * be his person since I can not :( love him with everything you have and give him his forever home he deserves.

I think that’s all the info I can think of. Please contact me with any questions

This is so crazy, I was just randomly looking for sphynx cats available to rescue and I can't believe you are in MT like me. This is a very spur of the moment thing for me right now and I have never planned on getting cat until randomly today. I hope Dobby finds a wonderful new home soon. But if no one comes along I would love to maybe chat.

Ohmygosh! Thank you admins for letting me post <3 I’m not sure if someone reached out from here or maybe off my Facebook post elsewhere… but my post hasn’t gotten activity in over a month. So I want to thank everyone here just to be sure. :) Last night a woman reached out and contacted his breeder. All contracts signed and Dobby will have a loving home this Sunday. All fingers crossed this will be his forever home.

Admins I’m not sure how to close this post now that he has a home.

:( Poor Dobby... Do you both have a plan for when the kittens are born? What will the breeder do with him when he has outstayed his welcome? Have you reached out to local fosters? Maybe your local non-kill shelter have some references? I wish I could help but you are so far away.

Unfortunately no plan yet :( we are both working together trying to find him a home. I’m not even sure where to look for fosters. But I don’t think it would work well. Dobby takes a while to warm up so I’d hate for him to be bounced to a foster placement only to settle in just to be uprooted again :(

I am willing to take him but I live in MD. If i could price maybe how much it would cost for him to fly I could get him for you.
I can connect you with his breeders personal facebook if you’d like? She’s flown out kittens a few times so she’d be able to help with the logistics? Feel free to send me a message

@Gizmo7926 hi there! I’m not sure what your timeline was, so I may have missed the Hogwarts Express here, but I figured I’d at least reach out!

This past October I lost my heart and soul, Gremlin. We share our wedding anniversary with his birthday, and while it was our very first one this past February 19th, it was bittersweet because he wasn’t here to celebrate with us. To add even more heartache to that situation, I VERY unexpectedly had to say goodbye to Gremlin’s much younger brother (only 5 years old ), Mr. Biggs to rapid and undiagnosed heat failure only a few weeks ago. To say I’ve become an absolute shell of a human is an understatement.

I live in a suburb outside of Chicago, but I would absolutely make the drive out to Montana to give Dibbles a loving home back here with us (granted that you and your breeder are okay with that). My Gremlin had a lot of tummy troubles, anal glad issues, and respiratory issues, so I am no stranger to that song and dance— but I am so happy to hear that Donny’s been doing well since his health scare!

Two potential caveats to us being a top candidate for his adoption: we have 2 very derpy and giant doggos. HOWEVER, Gremlin was also very uncomfortable around dogs too (we discovered this after we brought the poopers home ‍♀️) but we are fortunate to be able to completely separate the cats and dogs between floors of the house. Both upstairs and downstairs are the same sq. footage, so no one pet is in anyway cheated of prime real estate.

The other caveat is that while we currently only have babies of the four legged variety at the moment, we do hope to try for a human one over the next few years, so I’m not sure how that would sit with you and /or your breeder. I completely understand if that’s not something you feel you can justify. Although these might be a dealbreaker, I wouldn’t feel right not leading with complete transparency.

I would love to chat with you and/or the breeder to see if we would be a good fit!

I’ve attached a few pictures of my naked bubbies, and although they are no longer here, their love and happiness is very much still felt throughout the house!!!

Hugs and kitty kisses— Sam
