Hello everyone ,
First question is for my baby adopted Sphynx who has HCM and a slew of other issues (she’s doing amazing BTW) but she’s a real screamer !!! Her next heart checkup and echo is in 2 months , however I was wondering if I can do anything to calm her down ? She’s VERY at home and since she really took control of the house she just runs around screaming all day and night . She has about 15 different sounds and I hear them over and over .. nothing is wrong , she’s happy , she plays , she eats like a hog etc. she’s just always screaming . I tried cat pheromones with zero luck . I do think it’s because she is not spayed and that’s really causing this and driving her insane . My plan is to ask my vet this time if she can be spayed, but they said with her short lifespan , they wouldn’t put her under anesthesia for this. Conversely , I think she would have a happier life if she could be … any opinions or thoughts here?
Second question and a tough one . My oldest Sphynx is at the end of his long and amazing life . He has the typical weight loss , he still eats the same amount and more that I give him , he drinks plenty , but he just keeps getting skinnier . I give him high calorie pastes and treats along with all the food he wants , wet & dry and he still grazes throughout the day . Please tell me there is so thing I can try ?!?!? I’m dodging the Inevitable , because I just don’t want to admit it , anything I can do ? He still acts very normal and loving but he’s slowing down.
And the worst question. When will I know I have to take him? If it’s up to me I will be by his side and never take him and let him pass in my arms , but I also want to be fair to him and I’m having a really hard time .
Thanks everyone !
