A years makeover!

So as most of you know Violet came to us a year ago March and she has been on a increasable journey in that year. She came to use from Ohio with a skin issue and very over weight (about 14lbs). She spent most of her days sleeping and not much of a personality. She has always been super loving and sweet. I started her on a special diet dry food and watched the weight melt off her. With this weight loss came extra skin that made the rash get worse. I took her to the vet 10 days ago to get her teeth cleaned (2nd time sense we have had her). After a chat with the vet we chose to start simple and gave her a cortisone shot to see if that helped with the rash.... In two days I saw a amazing difference in not only her rash but her personality. Her rash had almost cleared up and she started talking to us and was awake most of the days. She was playing with Fuzzy and the Cats Meow toy with the other Sphynx. I bought a pet stroller and she sat in it like she was a princess in a parade. She has made such strides and is such a AWESOME baby. I have been in contact with her old owner all year and he is so happy for her and I and is glad he made the right diction to choose us for her.

So my husband and I are VERY proud of Violet.

I have attached before and after pics as well as her Easter contest picture with her Easter bonnet on. She sat there Saturday so proud to have her picture take!

I know I have said this before but I want to tank everyone for all the support & loveover the last year. @Catzzzmeow @SphynxKid @GizmosMommy @andreanar @susi794 @Inflamed @BluesMummy you have been such great friends and have always encouraged me and gave great advise when I was feeling hopeless as times.

Awe...Violet is just such a proud looking girlie. What you did for her to get her to a healthy weight has insured her time with you be longer than it would have been. It had been great to see her transformation...and now decked out in her Sunday best!

Wowsa! I think it bears repeating..WOWSA! Violet is one beautiful and lucky little girlie. What brand of diet food did you use? My Habibi has an awful weight problem too. Seeing what you've done for Violet makes me inspired to try to work with Bibi's weight issue.

@susi794 Thank you! It is shocking when you put the pictures next to each other. I knew she had lost weight but didn't realize just how much weight it was. I actually put them all on Simply Nourish (chicken and rice) and have changed them the chicken and rice to the salmon and sweet potato (when they have it in stock). It's only carried at Pet Smart. That was all I did! I portioned it to what they should weigh on the chart on the back of the bag. Hairry trimmed down too (he was getting man boobies). It took about a year but it was pretty easy. If you decide to change let me know how it goes. If I can do it anyone can! Now if I could just do this for myself I would be set!!! LOL

Thank you!!! Violet was right at 13.5 lbs and she is at 8.5 lbs now. We have recently taken them off the high protein food because I don't want her to loose any more weight.
