So Molly has not had an IBD flare up in probably at least 6 months. She started last week, first vomiting then diarrhea. We went out last night (watching the final Tragically Hip concert) and so I spent most of the day horizontal and recovering. Every time princess had diarrhea, she came down to jump on my chest. Like, "Here mom, wipe all the poop off of me please". At one point I gave her a long pet and ran my hand down her tail... I got a palm full of poop. FFS.

So, we are trying Slippery Elm Bark (SEB) now to try and help (along with her prednisolone and bland food) to try and get this cleared up. Good thing I have been meaning to steam clean the carpets... looks like that is going to happen this week!

Oh no!! I am sorry to hear Molly is having a flare up, poor girl.
Sending you many hugs and healing thoughts. And I hope the SEB and meds help her feel better quick. ❤️❤️

Thanks... I am so worried about her. She hasn't had a bout of diarrhea for this long before. I need to try and figure out something else to feed her again. We will be throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks.

@MollysMom , ugh .. You two should snuggle in bed (minus poo feet )

My IBD kitty Macie has been on Fromm Game Bird for most of the year now with way better results than any other food to-date.

Recently she snuck in a nibble of Nutrisource (blue bag) I was getting ready for the others -
She held it down ..hmmmm maybe I can get them all on one food someday

My vet prescrobed "cerenia" tablets for poo/vomit issues yrs ago-
It's for dogs but vets often use smaller dosage for kitties -
Cleared him up right away

Healing vibes sent - I personally know the frustration of throwing things at the wall with IBD kitties -

@MollysMom oh yes, the palm full of poop saga! Been there, done that. LOL

So sorry that Molly isn't feeling well. I pray that it gets under control asap for her sake and yours. Hugs.

I feel your pain. One of my past girls had bad IBD. Wishing you both some healing and firmer poo

We will be off to the vet tmrw... she is in the box having diarrhea within minutes every time she eats anything. Poor little muffin. I think Leo is sick now too... he threw up today and I think he had some diarrhea. Thus happened once before where they were both sick at the same time. Hoping some metronidazole will get these 2 straightened out!

@MollysMom , healing vibes sent
Keep us updated often

Btw - have you changed food recently - just a thought -
Awhile back I fed a certain brand and got poo issues and puke with kitties out of the blue-
Checked the zip sealed bag stored in AC and it had mold in it !
Reported to company and they eventually did a recall of a certain lot

Just wanted to put it out there now that both have poo issues

Healing head smooches!

Update: we went to the vet, both got metronidazole. He suspects that since they are indoor cats it is very unlikely that it is anything virus-y or scary. Molly hasn't had diarrhea since fasting for 12 hours - yay! They both lost their minds hissing and growling like a couple of ferals at the vet - at one point Leo sounded like a dog barking. But they were fine and settled down when we got home. Fingers crossed that the metronidazole does the trick. Vet figured it was something "off" in the food they had both been eating

@MollysMom , thank you for the update -
Healing vets sent to Molly and Leo
My my what a vocal Leo
Mine will growl at home and then an angel at the vet

Mine had "metro" when they got ill on a food that was bad
I would call the food company just to report it - see if others called in -

I did and was the first complaint report on a food never recalled -
Turns out they got a handful of similar complaints after mine and did a recall of the one lot -

Keep us updated :)

Metro is good stuff and works wonders
