I have the option to get a 5 m0nth old sphynxy kitten. Are they still kitteny like? I was leaning more towards a young baby but there won't be any kittens in my area available till august! But I want my kitten now!! :Badly:

They are still kitteny as you would say at 5 months.. my boy is 9 months and still considered a kitten. a Sphynx kitten only leaves their mother at 12 weeks which is under 3 months if my maths is correct so its only 2 months older then it would have come home

Luci will be 5 months in March, she is so much fun to watch and play with. She has no fear of anything. She now beats the crap out of Frank ( who is 1) instead of the other way around! She is exploring everywhere. I say go for it!!!

My Henry - who came home at 16 weeks old - is now 6 months old and he's still a complete nut, filled with constant kitten energy. I brought Winston home at 7 months old and I think he was so grateful to have a home of his own without a gazillion other cats around (seriously, there were at least 15 if not 20) that he became my absolute love bug from day one. I've never seen a cat love so fiercely.

I'm glad you're going to go for it!! You will not be disappointed, no matter what the stage of kittenhood is in your new little one!!!!

Just to reassure, my six-month-old is still very much a kitten! I actually can't wait for her to leave this absolute kittenhood (they rarely completely grow out of it), but that won't be until around the age of two years!

Congrats!

You definitely are making the right decision. We brought our Timothy home when he was 5 months old and he was so small, only 4 lbs. He was definitely still a kitten. He had tons of crazy kitten energy and we were able to do all of the loving and training that you do with a kitten that can be so much harder when they are a bit older.

Every one should get a kitten! Maybe I will start searching again and get one too! :Wink2:

I like how it only took 2 people to convince you to go for it and you do!:LOL::ThumbsUp: They stay kitten like for a long time. Akali still gets hyped up and crazy and she is 3!

I know alot of breeders will not let them go until they are 16 weeks, so 4 months old. My 1.75 (almost 2) yr olds still act like kittens. I dont think they will ever outgrow the playfulness.

So funny made me laugh.

I would jump on anything under a year old. Danser was just over a year when I got her and ashe was very much still full of herself.
Go for it!
