So I am wanting to use a different litter then what the breeder is using as he uses Special Kitty Clay Litter and I want something that clumps and helps with smell somewhat. Questions:

-Am I stupid for switching to something different immediately?

-Is it as good as everyone says?

-Does it matter which bag I get of it? (we live in a small town and I only have 2 choices)

Thank you! I have read a lot on here and just am not sure.

The litter I am referring to is Worlds best cat litter. Sorry I left that out. :)

I am happy to hear anyone's recommendations for litter as I am about to scream looking for one to switch to.

We finally settled on Dr. Elsey's precious cat. It is a clumping clay, leaves no odour and no dust. I scoop every day, and we have zero smell coming out of the box.

I have not tried the worlds best, we tried the arm and hammer corn one and it was really dusty. Have also tried pine pellets too, but one of ours was allergic to them.

I want something that is readily available where I live and I cannot get this within a 50 mile radius. I also am bad about remembering to order and might run out before I get a chance to order more in time. So nothing that I have to order. Thank you for the suggestions!

Thank you so much! Now to find it in Vancouver.

I've been maintaining this huge document of information and nuggets culled from this great forum. You are all such a great resource. If I don't have my home effectively prepared for my future Sphynxies I should be slapped!
I buy mine at petsmart, if that helps

I would try to avoid wbcl it is really bad about causing
yeast infections on Sphynx skin. What part of Tn. Are you from?
@LoveSphynx87

I'm in northwest TN. I picked up a bag of Cats Pride and I will slowly change him over when I get him next weekend after he adjust. I can't wait! I have been kitty shopping like crazy. I think I have everything just about bought and ready.

Just an **FYI - the cats pride litter in the bag is very different than the cats pride fresh n light in the green box or green plastic jug..

We went with the unscented fresh n light for less dust and better clumping ( lol no scented litter matches up to Sphynx butt) He is used to it so I do not want to litter experiment and ruin a good thing. The litter does not have to be perfect as long as he pees/poops in 100% it and is not allergic is the main thing for us.

Just wanted to pass it on :)

Are you clock watching Gotcha day!? Oh the anticipation!
I can see all the a Gotcha day toys , blankets , etc!
I am looking forward to your pictures! It is amazing how many pics we take!

I use worlds best but I use the pine and not the corn. It clumps well but has no scent so if your cat does not cover his business you have a stinky house. Nigel does not cover his poos and when they are fresh they stink to high heaven but when they dry out you can't smell them. So I like when he poops while I am at work. Lol

If you also have a sphynx that pees rivers you have to scoop 2-3x a day.

Just be careful with switching litter. Nigel did not care one bit. But was eating the corn worlds best while he pottied. Switched to blue buffalo walnut and he turned brown. So I bought the advanced formula of worlds best and it works well for us.

Nigel thinks he is a dog. I'm surprised he even potties in the box and doesn't try to go outside with his brother. He was marking his territory outside yesterday by squatting and peeing over where Basil peed.

Thanks for the info. I actually got the Cats Pride in the green box. Walmart only had the box and nothing else which isn't uncommon for my town. We are too small!

I am counting down the days! Everything is set and in order. Just need the kitty now :) And I will for sure post pictures when I get him! Can't wait to share him with y'all.
