Hey so I'm an illustration student doing a project where I'm creating a greeting card that will be printed on a letterpress machine.
I have decided to use a Terry Pratchett quote for the inside of the card that will read as follows:
"In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods. They have not forgotten this."
-Terry Pratchett
On the front of the card will be a Lino cut image. I would like to use a very godly proud looking Sphynx cat as reference. I need a photo for reference before Tuesday. I know it is short notice but whoever supplies the right photo I would be happy to send you a signed copy of the final work with the print edition included. ( I plan to create this in an edition 10 or 20).

@naomi Not sure if any of these might help. I looked for some wrinkly ones for you.

Love @Catzzzmeow & @Zab, @Toa and Ross 's. Wrinkles are a must.

Max doesn't have a lot of defined wrinkles, but I thought I'd toss these into the pool (with my usual sense of humour).

You didn't specify what kind of god...

But seriously...

Can't wait to see the other entries, and the final results. Have fun, Naomi!!!

Hahaha..."you didn'y specify what kind of god". You're right Xandria. So in that case I'll add this one.
Toa, a goofy kind of god

Thanks everyone for the great pics. I think I like either Ross the shoulder cat looking down on his minions or max with his nose straight up in the air disdaining the world . Tough decisions. I'm going to do some sketches of both and see what works best. I'll post pics a little later today of my sketches and maybe everyone can help me choose!

@Zab I also really liked the pic with your Sphynxie looking down on us from the fan!? He looks very godly! And the one where he is toddler sleeping (with but in air and face in bed) is hilarious! The others would just work better for Lino cut because of the strong contrast of shadow and light.

Oh no, it's just a cat tree that is very high up... and I totally agree, the other choices are way cooler for your project! They are propably a bit older and more regal looking. My Ossi is still a baby.... so excited to see what you come up with. My thumbs are always up when it comes to art...

Oh wow! It's so great to see come together. A long time ago (25 years ago, cough cough) I used to hang out with a delightful group of artist students at Uni, and I do miss exposure to artists and their process.

And sketch #2
Let me know what you like better!
Remember this is to go with the quote

"In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods.
They have not forgotten this."
- Terry Pratchett

Wow wow!! My Ross never looked so beautiful as on your illustration!
You're really very talented.

I think Max (oh my, I'll be beaten by Ross for this) fits best with the quote!

The second one is equally stunning. It's a tough decision, honestly, as they both fit the bill.

#1 exemplifies absolute assuredness; eternal and universal.
#2 connects with the viewer and is very present and very very knowing.

#1 can be construed as uber-god and #2 a god of the people, but still unreachable.

Um... do both? LOL. I think #2 has a little edge over #1 because it connects with the viewer. On the other hand, #1 is so lofty. GAH!!!!

And btw, I love that Pratchett quote!

Awe thanks guys. I think I will see what my teacher thinks too. She will probably have veto power anyway as she will know what will be better for the media. :)
