Bee Sting

Hi community. Olive was stung by a bee about 45 minutes ago. This is the first for me. Should there be any cause for alarm? Her behavior is normal. I washed her paw with cool water and was able to do cold compresses for a few minutes. I don’t see an obvious stinger. Any advice would be helpful. I did put a call into her vet.

Just spoke to Vet who suggested I watch to see if it becomes bothersome, swollen or red. If it does, then I should bring her in. I also spoke with my breeder who essentially said the same thing, but also said most cats don’t react to bee stings and she actually told me it would be OK to use the correct dosage of regular Benadryl if there seems to be a local reaction.

Olive seems to be fairing well. Thank Goodness.

Just an FYI benadryl can be wonky for some pets per my vet. My rottie had a severe neurological reaction with a quarter of dose a different vet suggested.

@Olive807 u Can ask vet if chlor tabs would be a better option than benadryl if needed in case needed. My vet gave dosage for my sphynx tobylove when he had seasonal allergy.. agree with your vets advice. Keep us updated, all paws are family.
