Better in the Raw

I have Munnkie on better in the raw as most of you know. Currently I am feeding him 3/4 cup a day of raw which is what the package says an adult cat should probably be eating. He is growing and looking lean and healthy. Although he acts like he is STARVING ALL DAY! I have heard that this is a sphynx thing that they do, always want food. Just wanted to make sure I am feeding him the right amount. What amount is everyone else feeding their sphynx?
I have even started adding a little extra water to his individual raw meals hoping it would fill his little tummy up more, it does seem to be helping and the water mixes with the supplement and is like a little water/blood/supplement smoothie for him once he eats his meat haha
Also I haven't weighed him recently but I would guess he is about 3 or 4 lbs.

As he is a kitten he can have more than the recommended amount for an adult. Should also add some onto the recommended amount as the sphynx breed has a higher metabolism.

While they are so young and growing, you can feed them a lot. I only start worrying about recommended amounts when they hit 1 year old or if they are getting overweight.

Our boys are now 1 1/2 years old now, they are both 10lbs and get 2.5-3oz 3 times a day. I don't know what that is in cups though. We measure everything with our kitchen scale :)

When Molly and Leo were babies, they had BITR too. I easily fed them 1.5 cups per day each. They ate 4x a day then too.

For one of their meals I would always just give them a huge portion and let them eat as much as they wanted. I was always so worried about them not getting enough.

Now that they are full grown, Molly eats about 3/4 of a cup per day, and Leo eats about 1 cup per day. And they eat 3x a day now.

yeah you can give him more. Kittens need the Food. I didnt start mine on BitR until my baby was 8 months old and he ate more then a cup a day. He always acts hungry now too still, but gets enough food. and treats a day.

When my guys were on raw, I let them eat as much as they wanted at each meal. And they ate like starving little lion cubs!

Frank and Luci have been on BiTR for over 1 1/2 years. As kitten they ate as much as they wanted 4 times a day. Now Frank is 2 1/2 and Luci is almost 2 and they get about 3/4 of a cup split into 2 feeding same day. When feeding time comes they act as though they haven't eaten in days. If they way more all they do is sleep, and they do get plenty of treats also

@Andrea Cochran there are different ways to feed the raw diet. You can make it yourself using ground meat and a supplement, or ground meat, bones and organ or you can buy it premade from a pet store.

Some pre made brands are Instinct Raw, Primal, bravo balance

I make my own using ground beef and a supplement called better in the raw. You mix the ground beef in bulk with the supplement and water and freeze portions of it, thawing as needed.

The other threads in this section of the forum (sphynx cats and raw diet) have a lot of info to help those interested in starting out :)
