SOOOO relieved! Boris, originally diagnosed with HOCM (he had the Obstructive component), has great news!! His heart was re-scanned yesterday at Colorado State University Veterinary Hospital. The obstuctive component is GONE, the valve that was malfunctioning, creating the murmur, is now working perfectly, and his murmur has disappeared. As for the HCM , all of his heart measurements have remained stable, and one has even improved
He currently has NORMAL heart function!!!!!

I am soooooo happy! So is he, but then he always is!!! We won't know what the progression of the disease will be in the future, but for now, he is stable and healthy.
He was a good boy on the long trip (3.5 hours each way), captured lots of attention there, was very curious, and liked everything except the big old yellow lab who farted in the lobby.
He will continue on atenolol and be rechecked in a year. I have to think the early detection, the medication, his diet (mostly raw), and the love he gets has to have helped! WOW.... happy mom here!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Below (and sideways... don't know how to fix that) are: Boris waiting for the scan results, Boris on mom's lap on the way home, and Boris HAPPY TO BE HOME
