I am the momma to a beautiful spyhnx baby, long story short, came home from a soccer scrimmage a few days ago to find lucy dragging her back left leg, rushed her to the vet and discovered she had broke her femur. The vet said these things can happen because of the breed being so active. I'm absolutely heart broken. They did surgery and was able to set the bone beautifully. Has anyone experienced an injury such as a broken bone with one of their babies?

So sorry to hear this. Its probably due to them being more fragile as a kitten. We had a kitten break its leg from one of our litters many years ago, he was just rough housing with a sibling. I'm sure your kitten will be just fine. :)

Oh No!! I am so sorry to hear about this!! It truly is heartbreaking. My boy pretty much shattered his back leg and we just got word on Sunday that he gets to keep his leg. The hardest part will be when you get him home because you have to try to keep her as still as possible. The minute my boy came home he was ready to jump and I almost had a heart attack but now he has figured out that that is not going to work. You would think the pain killers would knock him out but it only did for a bit. I do recommend getting a crate set up so you can sleep peacefully. He is out during the day when I can supervise him but, I think it really helps to keep you sane because otherwise you will be worrying about what she can get into. I hope your baby heals fast and if you have any questions feel free to contact me!

Hello @Runnermom and welcome to sphynxlair for you and Lucy. What a beautiful girl you have. And a very active girl...sorry to hear she broke her femur. I don't have experience with it so only jumped in say welcome and sent healing vibes to Lucy!

Hello and welcome to you and Lucy-kineval! Sounds like she'll be back in action soon. But if you have any concerns about rambunctious behaviour before healing is complete, "shirting" (putting a thicker shirt on a Sphynx) often calms them down and makes them a little less mobile (especially if they're not accustomed to wearing clothes).

Healing vibes your way! Keep us informed.

Awe so sorry to hear this. It is the worst when you see your baby in pain. Frida got a really bad cut last year and even that was really upsetting. Any idea what happened?
Is she home now? Keep us updated on how she is doing. Would love to see some pics too. :)

She is a cutie! These little critters are great at getting into trouble. I'm glad to hear she is home and well. I'm sure she will be back to herself in no time. It is too bad you can't figure out what happened, but I'm sure if it isn't obvious what happened that it was just a fluke accident.
