My sweet Chubby passed away today. He was in my lap purring to the very end. He was so sweet and loving. I never heard him ever hiss or growl. He got along with everyone. My heart is totally broken. You can't imagine the grief I feel. He was so deeply loved. It's hard to imagine life without him. He will be in my heart and memories forever. This has devastated my whole family. I'm thinking about rehoming my precious babies, this is so painful, I don't want to go through this again. I've been in tears all day and it hurts so bad. susi, his constant companion is walking around howling. She knows he's gone. It's been like this all day. She's just pacing around, howling. We've tried to comfort her, but she runs from us. It's so hard dealing with the loss, but Chubby is at peace. That's the most important thing. I love you Chubby, your family will always love you! You live in our hearts forever! Rest in Peace, dear Chubby.

I am so sorry. It is all so raw right now. Know the gift is all about giving them the best home, all your love and yet knowing there will be unbearable pain one day. They deserve just that...a person/family that knows this and yet still commits to this willingly. Your Chubby knew nothing different....he felt your love every day. Take pride in knowing no one and I mean no one was meant to be the love of his life except you...you were chosen. You were his love. Take peace in that....your other babies will help you heal.

Keep in mind your loss does not compare to how your baby felt about their gain in having you as their loved one. You were their every thing.

I am deeply sorry for your families loss of Mr Chubby - his life is forever engraved in your heart - I wish I had the words to ease the pain of the feeling of inconsolable loss - we are here for you with sincere sympathy and prayers of comfort to your family and Susi... Everyone and your babies truly need each other - because you know how to love each other best .. Heal together and take time to reflect on all the love you shared that made you smile- those precious moments forever engraved in your heart- Mr Chubby will always know that love...

I'm so sorry. These babies really do become part of your family. When we lost our baby to cancer a few years back our little Auntie Beanie was looking for her brother all over the place. In time she will be fine, but she is mourning the loss just as you are. I send my condolences and heart to you and your family at this time.

@1Spjynxlover our hearts break for you!! I can only hope that I'm lucky enough to have our babies in my arms when the end comes- so much better than being alone or at the vet surrounded by strangers! You have the other babies to grieve with you, you and they can help each other- you all need the company of each other to help you through this difficult time. The crying will subside, and the loving and healing can begin. Our thoughts are with you, the asylum sends healing purrs and head-butts of love your way along with hopes for many better days to come!

I totally get its hard every time I just think of loosing one if my boys my heart goes into a panic but would if you God forbid lost one child would you ship you remaining child to an orphanage to be placed up for adoption? If ones animals are truly like family then we need to be there even when we know it's going to be hard. In truly sorry for your loss and can only hope that time allows you to live with the loss but your other animals need you now too they have lost a loved one too ((((hugs)))))

Oh 1Sphynxlover Im so very sorry to hear of your loss. Its good that you were together to say goodbye. The other posts have expressed everything I wanted to say beautifully. Maybe wait a little before making the decision to rehome your babies, as you say they are precious to you and can help you through the healing that will come.I do know people who have vowed never to have another animal because of the intense pain they went through when to time had come to part. We are all different and I dont think that there are any right or wrongs on these choices, but although my heart has been broken a few times (and sometimes in quiet moments the tears still flow) the years of joy and companionship that we gain from our furry or not so furry friends and the lifetime of memories and funny stories are precious and priceless . Sending you and your family hugs and healing thoughts xxx

My heart goes out to you. I truly do understand how hard the loss of one of your four-legged children is. I have no doubt that Mr Chubby was well and truly loved and he knew that and he will be forever in your heart. Give yourself and Susi time to grieve before making any decisions about rehoming - especially for Susi. She just lost her companion, so don't let her lose you too. ::HUGS:: and love to you.

@1sphynxlover , thinking of you and your family and babies all night wishing I could find the right words ...Snuggle tight together .. In our darkest hours , we need the love of our family and babies most...

I shared the same worries of having my heart ripped out again... I held my babies tight grieving together until my eyes and throat hurt I was coughing.. I walked around feeling numb from the loss.. I did not want to feel that again...

Then I thought to myself about the cycle of life with our babies and all the unconditional love and priceless treasured moments that make life complete- to not know and share that love would be the greatest loss of all-

Mr Chubby took a piece of your heart with him to the bridge- I have no doubt he has met up with our bridge babies and is sharing the stories of all the love your family showered upon him - I truly believe they just change worlds- watching over us eternally until we meet again-

I found wonderful poems at petlossmatters.com that provided some comfort..
Please know we are thinking of you and here for you and your family

I am so sorry for your loss. I fear this future pain for when the day comes that my furr-baby Figaro passes. He's 10 years old and healthy so he has hopefully several years to go. But the fear is ever constant in the back of my mind. I decided to get Roo (my 14 week old sphynx kitten) while Figaro is still able to handle him so that in the future when the time comes, Roo will be there to comfort me. Find comfort in your other animal babies, don't be so scared about when their time to cross over the rainbow bridge comes. Take joy and comfort in the love they give you until then. They need you as much as you need them. In time Susi will heal just as you will. Even though right now it seems like that will never happen, trust me it will. A part of you might always ache that Mr. Chubby is with the angels instead of with you, but after time your heart will accept it and find comfort in the fact that he is waiting for you up there. I've lost many very beloved pets, and even though the pain in unbearable for a while, I still can't imagine my life without the love of animals. Much love, hugs and prayers to you and your family. xoxoxo

I'm very sorry for your loss....did you lay Mr. Chubby on the floor for Susi to see, smell and comprehend that he is gone? Also to say goodbye in whatever way they do? If you haven't already buried him, that would help her to stop calling for him. I know your heart is broken over this, but thinking about rehoming the others is just an attempt to deal with the pain and I hope you don't really mean it. Mr Chubby wouldn't want that to be what he left you with. Love sometimes is extremely painful. It hurts beyond what we think we can endure sometimes...but still we go on. Because a life without it is no life at all.
Let the love you shower on the others be your homage to your life long friend...that would make Mr Chubby smile, I think.
We love you and totally understand,
Susi and the gang

Bless your heart, I'm so sad for you. You have been a chosen, unselfish,
blessing, and life saving to your other babies. They need you. Your love
and assurance, they will be taken care of.
They love you. Someone might get them and be mean to them. If you ever
found that out, you couldn't live with that.
It's better to have love and happiness for awhile, than never at all.
I know you are just devastated and hurt. You love your other babies.
Will be praying for you. Jesus can comfort you and give you peace.

We had Chubbys funeral today. I know you may find this unbelievable, but it's true. My husband brought Chubby from the Catio to be taken outside to be buried and Susi sniffed her and made a howling noise. I'm so worried for her. She's almost as bad as I am. We all lost it. Everyone just started crying. My daughter just sent this to me. The picture is Chubby. I want to thank everyone for the kind words and the prayers sent for him to get better.

I'm glad you let Susi sniff him...even if she howled, it is helping her understand her friend has passed on and hopefully she won't look for him anymore. Take some extra time to cuddle and reassure her that you still love her and spend some together time remembering good times with Mr. Chubby and give yourself and the others a chance to heal.
Much love,
Susi and the gang

So sorry for your loss, it's a rough thing to go through. If you think of all the good times and love you had with him it will help.
We had Maggie and CoCo since they were 6 weeks old (same litter) they were never apart. Maggie past away in her sleep one night and CoCo was lost. It took us about a month and we got another cat. She didn't like her but she stopped crying at night, I guess she was happy not to be alone. We all grieve in our own way, just love your babies, it helps a lot.
