Our cat Henry has a cough, we took him to the vet and they gave him meds for it, but he still does it. Does anyone else have this problem? I’ll post a video of it. It scares me because he sticks his tongue out and all we can do is wait it out.

My sister cat was diagnosed with asthma and she has a cortisone inhaler every morning now and does amazingly. She is still super active and happy just needs a little help when it gets dusty :)
I don't know how long it took to diagnose for Winnie but I do remember they did a couple x-rays and gave cortisone a try for a week and it helped a bunch for. So I would definitely ask your vet about whether they think asthma could be the underlying cause.

@Kpiatt going through a similar situation right now - coughs with the tongue out - and sadly it turned out to be asthma. Could be situational (fingers crossed) and not chronic. I highly recommend getting to a vet to get an x-ray and confirm and get your baby on meds if you can.

Goodluck and keep us posted <3

Yes! My sphynx cat was diagnosed with Asthma! She is on an inhaler daily and a liquid bronchodilater called terbutaline that I get from a compound pharmacy. She also has a rescue inhaler that we have to give when having an attack. We are now also looking into allergies as her skin has been terrible and have tried different shampoos, medications and foods to no avail. If I am not mistaken, asthma affects 4% of all cats. Please let me know if I can answer any questions. I have attached my original post when we were going through the ordeal.

My previous girl Fisen had bronchitis and we took cortisone inhalor daily. It's a piece of cake once you get a hang of it, easier than clipping claws. One thing was that Fisen drank more water and peed more. I wish I could see the video and see if I recognize the behavior.... hugs to you!
