I am wondering if it is safe to leave clothes on your Sphynx when you are not home? I am always concerned about safety and don't. Do you? I would love to hear from you all as to what you do. Am I just a worry wart mom?

Thank you

You will hear some great feedback from both sides to your question. I am a worry wart. Our older boy would be fine with clothes I am sure, but our girls are climbing on top of everything and I would fear they would get caught on something and be in danger. Our kitchen cabinet handles are a huge concern.

We only leave clothes on them for a couple of hours at most. Both Cleo and Marcus tolerate clothing somewhat, but they really don't like to wear clothing. So our compromise is to put something on them for warmth, travel or a picture, and then to take it off after it has served the immediate purpose. I also worry about them getting tangled in the clothes. There was a post here a while back (I don't remember who it was) about a cat that had circulation problems in a leg because he got tangled in a shirt that was left on for a long time.

Thank you. I just always thought people put them on to keep them warm all the time but I was nervous about doing that.

I wouldn't leave them on when, I left at all. Be sure too if you are
going to use a collar, get a breakaway collar. Then, test it before
you purchase it. These are very dangerous also. Cats have hang
themselves, because of collars. I don't even use one.

It's far better to have lots of blankets to nakeds warm while out rather than leave them in clothes. Clothes can get snagged etc.

Max wears clothes a few times a week but only during the day and while attended by us.

I don't leave mine in clothes if we are not there to supervise. There are plenty of warm blankets for them or our bed to snuggle into if they get cold.

Apart from if we are leaving the house (note my pic,we have just arrived at my boyfriends house) I don't put clothes on lucifer ever, my house is always as a nice constant heat, as is my boyfriends which is the general places he will stay, I make sure I have lots of little blankets dotted and I have no problems :)
