We recommend only using coconut oil on the tough dirty spots that are hard to get out with normal washing- just a dab or two. Too much coconut oil can actually attract more dirt to your kitty and he or she will be dirtier in a few hours.

I haven't had good luck with coconut oil. The previous poster is correct; too much, and the cat gets much dirtier.

Also, I saw a post a couple of weeks ago where someone suggested using a mens shampoo to remove buildup... DON'T DO IT! I did it to my poor Dobby and it immediately broke her out and she ended up with brown peeling skin like a bad sunburn. I felt terrible.

It's just Johnson's Baby Shampoo for me. Both Winky and Dobby respond very well to it. And I'm trying to make it a little longer between baths... too many, and they oil up quicker in between.

I also use johnsons baby shampoo (the blue one) and it works fine, I just lather him up, rinse and repeat. He's pretty clean

I've never used coconut oil. I use Hylyt shampoo. That is what the breeder and vet recommended.

Hi there. I rarely use the coconut oil. I've only used it when the boys had a stubborn dirty spot and I just used a dab to rub into that spot. I then wiped it off and bathed as usual.

I use Johnson & Johnson Baby Bath. I used to use the Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo, BUT I found it was too thick and heavy and it didn't rinse nearly as well as the baby wash. Thus, my boys come out cleaner, not oily or greasy and they can go a long time between baths. Come to think of it, why should they use the shampoo rather than the bath when they don't have hair/fur, just skin with some peach fuzz!

I have had no skin problems here as a result of just using the Johnson & Johnson Baby Bath. Many ppl on here have strongly suggested using Pet D'Greaser Shampoo which comes in a jar, not a bottle. I will be ordering it from the company before the weekend.

I'll be using that first, then finishing with the J & J Baby Bath. It is supposed to leave them very clean without any added gunk to make them filmy. No residue, but doesn't strip their skin.

In between baths, lots of ppl use baby wipes to keep them fresher longer. I use a warm, wet, wrung out paper towel as my boys have had skin issues with any type of baby wipes. Even the sensitive skin ones without alcohol.

Be careful with the coconut oil, I tried to use it to clean Dippy's face and found it quite hard to get rid of the residue meaning more dirt stuck to him. It cleaned well but I will only use it on the tough spots from now on.

I am having good results with johnsons baby shampoo which was what the breeder recommended but might try out the wash as have heard good things from people on here who have tried both.

We also use sensitive skin baby wipes between baths.

Coconut oil is not good on their faces but rest of body where you use their normal wash to get it off easier I wouldn't use it on their face. But I also wouldn't use baby shampoo rather baby wash ... I won't say what we used baby shampoo for in college I wouldn't even use it in a baby but that's me

I use the coconut oil on Bella's privates to get the dry stuff off her. That's about it. I use Hylyt too and it works great. You can buy it on Amazon. If I'm out of it , I use baby shampoo.
