I don't like taking my pets to the vet, so when I do, its a big thing for me.
Cronus has not been feeling like himself since I came back from Idaho. He stayed home with my daughter, so it was not from traveling. About a week ago, he started feeling HOT, not just warm or warmer than normal, but HOT. I had noticed he would not jump up or down off of anything without falling on his face. It worried me, but since I have been working non stop since I got back (avg 60 hours a week) I thought it was me not seeing him right, or he just miss stepped. But when I felt how hot he was I took his temp. when it reached 105 and still climbing I stopped and took him to the vet. (I took it under his arm, so recitally would have been higher)
They gave him something for his fever and a shot of antibiotic. The fever went down that night, but by the time I got home the next night (worked another dbl) it was up again. So we went back to the vet, this time we were given Baytril. I'm not really sure it is helping either. He still feels hotter than normal, but only 103 or so when I take his temp. I'm trying to wait and see if the combo of the shot and the Baytril will help him out. The vet did flex his hips and they hurt, but she was not sure if it was ache because of the fever or something else. He has been on this combo for 2 days and he is jumping a little better, but his hips still shake at times. He is only 2, I really hope its nothing, but I worry. If he s not better after Tuesday (payday) he will go back again for more test. They have already done blood test to see what it was as he still eats, and drinks. ( not enough drinking as I would like, but would drink all the water I would add to his wet food, so he gets at least 1/2 cup at each feeding) His nose and eyes were good. The only indication he was sick was his temp and not wanting to jump. Last time they checked for Leukemia and FIV. And he is good to go there. So the next visit, will go way up in price as we have done all the 'cheap' test we could do.

Fingers crossed the meds he's gotten will do the trick and you don't have to take him back to the vet. Prayers your way!!

I hope Cronus gets all better asap. Sending prayers and positive thoughts.
Please let us know how he's doing. Hopefully this will all go away with the meds you have for him and he won't have to go back for more testing.
