Hi all. We bathe Dezzy and clip her claws about every two weeks. She hasn't been oily, but she does become a bit fragrant if we go too long.

My concern is the base of her claws. They're kinda gross, and it's difficult to clean there. We usually end up scraping it off with fingernails inside a wet wipe. She objects to baths enough that I don't think we could go at her claws with a toothbrush in the tub, as I've heard elsewhere. a) how worried should I be about cleanliness there? b) Any other suggestions about claw cleanliness?

I would not drive yourself too crazy. The big thing about trying to clean them is so there is less change of infection if scratched or they scratch themselves etc. I use a baby wipe after I bathe them. You might even see if you can do one paw at a time meaning a paw a day every 2 weeks etc while they are relaxed and not around bath time which probably stresses them even more.

@RedRobot , hugs n head smooches to adorable Dezzy...

I wet a little trizultra on a flat cotton cosmetic round and gentle wipe around nails, 2x a week, gently pushing skin folds that can hide funk.
