Hello! I’m new to this forum and new to being a sphynx mom. We are finally picking up our little guy November 20th and we couldn’t be happier. I was able to pick him from the litter myself and loved how mischievous he was and yet so calm when we picked him up. I was told by the breeder that he was black coated (on the contract it says black as well) but he looks lighter than what I thought black would be? Can anyone tell me if he will get darker over time or what his coat colour actually is? We love him nonetheless, I’m just curious on what his coat colour/markings would be classified as. His nose and ear points are slightly darker and his eyes are yellow. Also, he’s a donskoy (Russian sphynx) if that helps.

Thank you!

Congratulations!!!! Yes…they can certainly change colors. We had a tuxedo pitch black and got much lighter…they look gray but is still considered black.

Often the lighter ones get darker as well.
