curious if anyone has joined Chewy + program ? they have a free trial 30 day trial.
it's $49 a year membership right now which is subject to change, and on next year's renewal .
they supposedly notify of membership fee change in advance.

(which is not refundable or prorated if cancelled)**

Try Chewy+ free for 30 days

Then $49 per year. Cancel anytime. We’ll email you 3 days before your free trial

With all the dog food , cat food, litter I order in a year and the 5% back rewards , I was tossing it around
lol I am afraid to look at my order totals for the past yr.

may join up with the spend 100 get 30 gift card promotion they have now with code : HAVEFUN (see details and exclusions) I will have to check the fine print and really see if worth it for me in the long run. you have to spend alot of money to recoup the $49.

**** I may just stick with checking my Rakuten account for the days when there 10%+ cash back deals and shop on those days

Enjoy big benefits with Chewy+

I am not a member. I am actually thinking about cancelling my autoship orders for food and shopping around more. We started our regularly repeat orders during COVID when there was a shortage on so many things.

@Catzzzmeow , I cancel my autoships after I receive as I have found better deals on various sites and it is a pain to keep track of autoships when life gets busy.

I signed up for the free 30 day trial. then used the rakuten .com for chewy.

I was ordering Macie Mae's meds and I would have had to pay shipping for 1 RX.

The free shipping with the chewy + started as soon as I joined with a click in my cart. It shows the amount of rewards earning on the order.

On my account it has the program link with more info including ** this months program discount is 25% flea tick meds expires April 30th.
may order that before my 30 day trial ends :)

I use frontline gold for the pups for a decade no issues even used on my epileptic dog in the past and no reactions,

The math on Chewy+ really comes down to your monthly spend and order frequency.
  • Recouping the $49 Fee: At 5% cash back, you need to spend $980 a year (about $82/month) just to break even. For a multi-pet house or Sphynx owners buying specialized food, prescription diets, and heavy litter regularly, hitting $82/month is ridiculously easy.
  • The Real Perk (Free Shipping, No Minimums): The best part isn't even the 5%, it's the free shipping with no minimum order. With regular Chewy, you need $49+ to avoid the shipping fee. If you ever forget an item, need a single bottle of medication, or run out of food mid-week, being able to make small $15-$20 orders without paying shipping is a huge quality-of-life upgrade.
  • Rakuten & Promos: You can actually stack Rakuten cash back on top of Chewy+ rewards! Combining the 30-day free trial with the "Spend $100, get a $30 gift card" promo is a great way to test the waters for a month without committing upfront.
If you already buy in large bulk batches over $49 every time, standard Autosave (5% off) might be enough. But if you place frequent, smaller orders throughout the year, the membership pays for itself quickly.
