Hello all.
Lately my Sphynx tail Bastet (Peterbald breed) sterilized girl (age 16 mounths) is bothering me - she drinks quite a bit and pees once a day and i wouldnt say she pees double of ammount for whole day, just regular amount for 1 pee.

Like a mounth ago it was pretty much allright with drinking - and she would pee 2-3 times a day with good amounts, but she was on canned food - Proplan adult.

Well we had some troubles with health lately specifically with intestinal tract (1st signs of colitis) and we were getting treatment. Then all of the sudden Bastet would go cold on her regular food, i tried different canned food availible in our country but she would either refuse it or get an allergy to preffered cans ( she is very senstive to maize) so i had to try dry food she loved and then this issue with drinking starts.

In a week i bought her a fountain but situation didnt change much. So i'm quite bothered and making her drink of a bottle though she dislikes it.
I am also trying to get her back to proplan, our vet recommended delicate series for now but its not like she is enjoying her food

We had a lot of troubles with health and getting urinary problems is one of my worst nightmares.
Maybe you could give me some advices on how to stimulate interest to water and for tests i should maybe do to check her state?

I'll be trying other canned food today which is claimed as grain free - thats Almo nature. But thats pretty much last type of food worth to try.

Hi & welcome to the Lair! I'm sorry to read of Bastet's problems. Have you considered feeding her an all raw diet? That way you would prevent feeding her corn or grain and she would get a lot of moisture with the food.
I don't know if pre-packaged/ground is available in Russia, but you could also make it yourself.
If this isn't an option I would consult a vet (but I understand from your post you have already).
Good luck!

Sorry to hear that. I wonder if it is also related to change in water taste - may be before it was different type of water? or temperature? It might be other factors besides her health status :(
I know that some cats prefer to drink from the cap. Also, simple thing as how and with what you washing her plates (different smell) can provoke different type of reaction due to unique sensitivity to smell.

Thank you all for answeres.
Inflamed , yea raw diet seams like an option. I do have some circumstances which stop me from that global change though, more then that it seams to me that allergy tests to sources of protein are must in our case. I've noticed sneezing reactions to turkey and beef. Maize would provoke cough. Blood tests didnt detect any signs of infection presence last time, only allergy reaction.
Hopefully i will find some good recipce for balanced raw diet here at Shynx Lair.

NYYoda, as for water - no i didnt change it, always buying same one. Though couple days ago i did try my luck with water and changed it - no difference yet.
The cap is a ceramic bowl right?
For some reason she preferes tiny ceramin bowls :) I can also try solid glass.
I never use any special cleaners for Bastet's bowls, hm i can try to get those cleaned with boiling water additionaly.
