Macie used to cough too
I bought s small raised stainless double feeder
And no more coughing after drinking

Try putting the water on an elevated platform, like an inch or two so it’s a a better drinking angle.

I was going to suggest the same thing! My older kitties (pre-Sphynx) seemed to appreciate it as well.

Hi there. My cat (10 months) is having the same issue. He actually had aspiration pneumonia and is on day 5 of antibiotics. He has fits sometimes and other time just has a gurgling sound. Have you had any issues sonce? I'm so nervous and I panic because I can't help him during the fits.

@Lizzardkitty Hi! sorry i just saw my notifications. It still occurs but i do notice a reduction in frequency. Jax is 1 year and 5 months old and he still has a coughing attack occasionally but it really only lasts a couple seconds or half a minute. i notice an improvement since elevating his water bowl. also, i showed a video of an attack to my vet and he said it could even be allergies. like from the dust from his kitty litter, etc. He took a chest x-ray and it was clear so its probably not asthma. Keep us updated and i hope your little one gets better soon!
