Looked around and couldn't find anything about this (so hopefully I'm not asking a question that's already been asked to death).

Do your cats drool? Norma leaves drool marks on me every time she comes to cuddle. Could it be because of these giant elephant tusks she has instead of teeth??? (I have never met a cat, or any other animal for that matter, with teeth as long as poor Norma).

Poor Norma! Can you attach a pic of her teeth? I haven't heard of it either i only know of dogs that drool. Have you asked your vet about her teeth? Maybe they are a bit big for her little mouth.

Hi Eryn! I'm Bella&Marley's Mommy from the Chinese Crested forum :) I as I said on there, it sounds like Norma could use a vet visit to check her teeth. Is she missing teeth? From what I've read about cats in general, drooling usually means they're loosing teeth or have some kind of problem with their teeth/mouth.

Athena drools when she is purring away. Usually when I am petting her, she gets all comfy and starts drooling. She has done this since day 1.
She has no problems in her mouth, but I can see how that could be the cause.
For Athena it is just her thing she drools.

I've got two droolers  Kama is the biggest drooler, she really enjoys the cuddles so much! The other one (Jinjo) blows bubbles of droole when padded nice and rough (he really likes that).

Lucifer drools when he is purring loudly and all snuggled up too! It literally drips from his mouth and you can feel it gliding down your neck sometimes
But if you feel her teeth are bothering her I suggest having a vet look at them!

Fern only drools when she is suckling on my neck or arm...it's a crazy amount of drool for such a small kitty.

Winston sometimes drools when purring and he also drools - sometimes prolifically - while sleeping. Doesn't sound odd to me :)

She has been eating dry food with no problems, but I'm going to bring that up to the vet at her check up (she needs to go to the vet anyway, as I haven't taken her since I got her a month ago). I'm wondering if she may have an issue with her teeth. Her breath is very bad, and her teeth are both brown (I read on another threat that they can sometimes have brown streaks running through their teeth, but hers are mostly brown-not just streaked). And yes, her teeth are very, very long. I'll try to get a good picture she (isn't a fan of me pulling back her lips and flashing bright lights in her face), but anytime she rubs her face on you, you can always feel her super long teeth poking you.

Hopefully that's easy enough to see. The camera on my phone wouldn't get a completely unblurry picture of it. After about 5 camera flashes, she'd had enough. :Dizzy:
*Her lip is pulled up a bit in this picture, but not by much.

They look a bit long to me. Keep us updated on the vet visit. Thanks for managing the photo Eryn!! Well done Norma.

Great advice so far, As ilovemysphynx said, if they were droolers since they were at a young age and the drooling generally happens when petted it's probably ok, this in fact can be normal in some cats. If it is happening suddenly it is surely worth a vet visit. Good luck and keep us posted.

About half mine are droolers.....when they get really loving with me....it's like turning on the tap.
Those teeth do look long to me, but do they ever grind down cat teeth? Never heard of them doing so....but my opinion and about a dollar fifty will buy you (maybe) a cup of coffee, as I am no expert.
