Dry cough or a hacking

Hello all. My Pandora seems to be going from one health issue to another. She recovered from her bladder issues, but now she has developed this dry "cough" or a hacking of sorts. It's random when it happens, meaning it's not happening only after she eats or when she wakes up. She doesn't bring anything up ever. It's just a dry, hard cough. It's repetitive and she does it for sometimes over a minute continuously. I have an appointment to take her to the vet, but I'm looking for any input from any of you. I'm terrified of HCM. Thank you

@Samara , pawsitive vibes for Pandora (((Hugs)))

I read your post and wanted to share the same fears I had last year with my Toby
Lair Prayers for Yoda mom's Toby

Definitely take a video to the vet
Long story short - my Toby had "reverse sneezing " seasonal allergies
My vet was glad to see the video
She sent me to the store for a $3 over the counter medication and it worked great

Glad you have a vet appointment for a proper diagnosis and treatment -
I just wanted to share to ask if the vet can rule out reverse sneezing / allergies?

All paws crossed nothing serious with Pandora
Please give head smooches and know I will be thinking of you and Pandora with a lair full of positive thoughts!

Please keep us updated often

Sounds like she has something in het throat she want to get rid of. Was she busy playing before? And is it always when she plays? Could be she gets a little too excited from playing and that makes her cough.
Hope the vet can tell what it is.

Sending healing vibes!

@Samara , pawsitive vibes and head smooches sent
Thank you for sharing the video -
Definitely take it to the vet with you

There are some good links below under "similar threads"
Which can help with questions to ask your vet to rule out
Every case amd kitty is different
We share our experiences to give support and help rule out some of the things we have seen with sphynx

(In my Tobys case , the vet looked at my video and said reverse sneezing /seasonal allergies and no X-ray .
Other time an X-ray was ordered to rule out any obstructions based on signs , symptoms )

**My vet also has me take a picture with my cell phone of any X-ray images so I have them on hand in case I need to go to an after hours clinic

Keep us updated often
((Hugs)))
