Hello!

My baby who is 4 this year, has been having problems with her skin. It's bumpy, red and dry.
Nothing has changed in diet, washing powder etc. We recently bought a new computer which she has been very fond of sitting on, which might be a reason?
We've taken her to the vets and they've said it is surface dermatitis and not much can be done.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anything help to alleviate it?

Please see photo attached! (And a cute one to make me less worried.)

@Grayphaxx , awh Chakra is precious , all grown up.

so sorry you and her going thru this. did vet recommend a shampoo? several of us keep on hand vetericyn spray, I like that it is non toxic.

have you seen her laying on the computer only on that side? is she sitting on the tower portion? warm to the touch? is there a way to close a door so she does no have access to the computer and see if her skin improves.? members will surely chime in. we are here for you

I would seek a second opinion. That looks raw and I am surprised your vet had no recommendations. I also would want to rule out a staph infection.

It looks like a skin infection or yeast infection. What are you using to bathe your little one?
You can try malaseb or duoxo chlorhexadine shampoo. It does need to sit on the skin for about 10 min then rinse off.

Thank you for the information!
I wash her in Anicura Cat Shampoo, the rest of her skin seems to be doing good with this shampoo. ^^

Thank you, she has been licking the area a lot over the last few days which has probably contributed to the raw ness, she is in a light jumper to cover the area so she can't lick it. (Which has helped a lot in the last 24 hours it is definitely not as a red anymore)

Thank you
She tends to lay on both of her sides, in the top of the PC there is a mesh covering to help with air circulation which does get warm.
Me and my partner have put a speaker over the top so she doesn't have anywhere to lay and get comfy so she can't cook herself! Fingers crossed it makes a difference

Hello All!
Just an update on Chakra and her skin: Things are better! We've stopped her sitting on the computer and that seems to have helped reduce any redness along with trying a new cream from Anicura, all natural ingredients.
It's their gel/ointment and that has also helped reduce any irritation on her skin. We use their Shampoo and that has helped her skin as well.
The only problem we're facing now is how dry the area is, but things are improving!
Thank you everyone for your advice and help - she is due a vet visit again soon but if things flare up again we will go much sooner!
