My kitty Lucille Bald loves to lay in the sun on her window tower. When I got her she didn't have any spots on her ears. Over the last two years she's gotten what look like large freckles on the inside of her ears. Are they freckles? Can sphynxs freckle? I know she can get a bit of a sunburn. Anyways my vet knows nothing about sphynxs so she's not much help!

Yes, they can get freckles and skin cancer. I would watch her for changes to any freckles or to the skin in her ears. They could also be oily dirt spots. Cleo got spots like that a lot as a baby. Scrubbing her well took care of them. Good luck!

Their skin changes over the years as they age also, just like a cat with hair. Except with a cat with hair we do not notice it because the fur is covering it.

Thanks:) She gets oil spots and I make sure to scrub those so she doesn't get little sores. These are just freckles I'll watch them though! Thanks for the advice.

Like the others said, they do freckle. Even if she wouldn't lie in the sun I think she would develop some over the years. You could look into some UV-protection for the window if it doesn't have it already (I know all modern windows over here automatically have it) just to be safe!

Over the years Ive heard people talking about getting a stick on UV protection that you just stick to the inside of your window....I know nothing about it, but you might want to search online or ask at your local hardware store?

If your kitty is exposed through an old window that is not UV protected , and is getting enough exposure to freckle then you probably want to put something on that window.
