He is not a sphynx, but i love him just the same. I gained custody of elmo from my previous relationship. i have had him as my own for the past 14 or so years, my husband and i figure he is over 16 years old now. anyway, we think he had a stroke and he is not looking like him self at all. he has an appt at the vet this afternoon and i really don't think he will be ever returning home.. .

I am so very, very sorry. Elmo has been blessed with a long and love filled life. Now you may have to give him the only gift left to you to give him. Our thoughts and hearts will be with you as you help Elmo across the Bridge. May he rest snuggled in the arms of the angels.
Prayers for peace and healing to you and your family. They leave such holes in our hearts when we have to say goodbye.
You were loved, Elmo--and that is everything.
Hugs,
Susi and the gang

Awww, so sorry to read about Elmo. I hope he didn't suffer much and that you may find some comfort from your family, human and animal alike.

update...elmo is back home. thankfully. the vet said that strokes are pretty rare in cats and probably not the cause. he had/has all the "human" symptoms. thats what i get for being in the medical field. ha. anyways, some fluids and a shot of antibiotics and the doc thinks he will be alright. we should know if there is a difference in him within the next 24 hrs or so. thanks for letting me vent and thanks so much for the thoughts.
i will keep you all posted.

update...elmo seems to be doing a bit better. he is not drooling anymore and is a bit more chatty. i thought it was a good sign that he joined me in the bathroom this morning. he hasnt done that in a while. hopefully he is on the mend. he is, however, old, so we will see how long he hangs in. the longer the better.
