Hey everyone
I’ve had my kitten since early October. He had been treated for coccidia before coming home even though he tested negative. His litter
Mates. were positive. I retested him at my vet and he tested clean for coccidia and other stuff. They did the float and an antigen test. first week home he had normal-soft stool. But then a week later he was having pudding-liquid stool. All over his tail and back legs ever single time DX he gets it everywhere. We switched him to a sensitive food. Not the one the vet wants because I can’t afford and won’t do prescription/ high end like hills or royal canine. But he is on authority sensitive stomach turkey and rice kibble and authority kitten pate one can a day. Vet suggested try out some pumpkin mixed in to his pate. So I tried that for a while but it didn’t help a whole lot. On a whim and desperation I bought a jug of all-stock anti-diarrheal that I’ve used on my dog and livestock it’s safe for cats so I’ve been giving him a dose of it each day. It really hasn’t helped much either
it’s better but not great. I’m at a loss I’m not even sure what to try or request testing for at this point. Ontop of the diarrhea he’s been sneezing since before I brought him home and has had eye drainage and irritation since then too. The breeder just says keep applying terramycin. But I had him on it for 3 weeks straight. Helped the inflammation but not the drainage. Breeders telling me basically it’s a me problem keep doing the terramycin, that her cats are all healthy, diarrhea is normal and just keep chasing and washing him “if it bugs me”. Gizmo sees the vet next month. I can’t afford to go any sooner thanks to my 1 yr old cats $3.5K pancreatitis episode last month DX any ideas / suggestions I can bounce off my vet would be appreciated
