hi,
My 1 year old boy apparently have a fever. I measured it and the termometer says between 40,1 to 42,8
Centigrades. But he is sleeping cozy in his mini shelter house. And the litter seems to be fine, no diahrea and vomiting. We noticed yesterday that he didnt come to the bed in the morning and he was very letargic. He eats but not that much like usual and he doesnt pay attention to toys.
I am going to the vets tomorrow to see whats goin on.

Thank you all my friends
He had indeed fever 40,5 celsius but the blood tests were fine only he is slightly anemic. But this due to the flu. He got antibiotics shot and a 50ml of nacl in the back. He is still hot at the touch and he sleeps in the veranda (air conditioner doesn't affect the area and he is warmer)
He got some kind of rash on the skin but we think it is caused because the high temperature. I am very sad to watch him like this. It is the third day that he avoid contact and he doesn't want to purr. But the good thing is that he haven't lost his appetite. I love him so dearly and I miss him on my lap . He wants to be alone.

The temperature didn't fade. He still have 40,3 degrees and the antibiotics didn't work. I am going back to the vet. I really don't know what can cause it. I did changed food approximately 1,5 months ago. I will try to switch to another brand that doesn't have grains in it. Or scan the tommy. Maybe he have eaten something bad or some object. But he is not vomiting and he have normal poop.
The slight red dots all around the body are also still there.
Did you experienced similar circumstances?
I got a cat 1 month ago but she is energetic and I don't know if he got some virus from her....that would be strange
Blood test are ok despite the hemoglobine is a little weak.

@MiyagiandHanzo sorry to hear the fever didn't fade. Good thing you're going to the vets for other meds and more checks. I don't know what the red spots could be. Maybe an allergy that's causing the fever also?
Was he very stressed when you did get the other cat?

Hope the vet can help your little boy to get the fever under control.

Sending lots of healing vibes to your boy and hugs to you.

Yes he was quite ecstatic to have a new member he didn't eat for 3 days and constantly chasing her and bite her and groping. But I sended videos to specialists and they say that this is more rough play than other and he showing her boundaries. But they got along very quickly in the first night spent together the same shelter. And he likes to bite her (more love bites for that I can say) but she is a drama queen and don't appreciate. Lol but she is getting nipples bigger and she's going slowly in heat and that's the thing I tought firts. That he started to avoid her because of the hormons. But turned out that he got fever. And the red spots are caused by that.
He got a different spectrum of antibiotics and a antihistamine. And he should feel better today already. I am ar work and can't wait to go back gome to see how he's doing. He was sitting in my lap while driving home. He is such a sweet boy, he enjoy rides.
Thanks for the toughts. It help me a lot to pass this stressed situation.

Those are the ones I manage to take while he was hiding. I didn't want to stress him too much.
I did take him back to the vet and she gave him another spectrum of antibiotics and I'm going back tomorrow to get another blood exams and take urine samples. He is almost back to normal today, I'm relieved. He is curious again and sneaky everywhere and he was waiting me at the veranda door today with his funny face.
Now he doesn't seek for shelters away from us but he snuggles to my knees and purr.

Hi my friends
Miyagi is back to normal. I was driving up and down every single day for five days to get antibiotic shots and we did 2 infusion of nacl and 2 blood tests and one urine test. He got another 2 antidolorific injections...
He stayed yesterday at the vet for 6 hours so my vet could take urine samples and while he was there she trimmed his nails and poop the black heads on his chin. She said that he is such a sweet biy and she took opportunity too poop some ( lol I found it very funny ) it is true that it doesn't bother him.
I must say that my vet own a rescue sphynx and she is familiar with the breed.
Anyway his temperature is now 38,4 and everything is normal. She gave me two more shots to do it at home because the clinic is closed tomorrow.
I am happy to have such an awesome vet.
And I don't know how much do you ppl would pay for but my bill was less than a 100 eur for everithyng!!!!
I am so happy to live in Slovenia

Happy to read he feels so much better now! So cute to see him drive home:). The cuddle pic is adorable.
It's great to have a good vet. And so cheap. I went to the vet cause my boy was sick. We were there 5 minutes, the vet gave my boys an injection and some pills and that did cost 80,- euro. Still not a lot but your vet beats it all:).

Yes I do agree. I was expecting around 200 eur or more so I was surprised. I don't know how much would have payed in the states.
How is your cat with the flu? Is it ok?
I hope so.
Have a great weekend
