First time making raw experience

I ordered a raw chicken blend Made from ground up chicken. Packed in 2 lb. pkgs. A mixture of ground chicken and hearts containing approximately 10% Fat, 10% organ meat and 10% bone from a company out of Texas called Texas Tripe. They deliver at certain drop off points around Texas and surrounding states. I ordered 20 lbs to start. I also ordered Alnutrin for meat and bone.

I just made 3 lbs. tonight because I wanted to make sure if they had a bad reaction to it, I didn't have 20+ lbs of already made cat food in my fridge.

I portioned them out using a food scale and put them into zipper bags by 12 oz. bags and 6 oz. bags because I'm still not sure how much to feed both Booey and Piper a day so I'm going to monitor how much they eat and make the correct weight of bags next time.

I took Piper's dry food out and replaced it with the raw food (warmed up by putting the zipper bag in hot water) with a few kibbles sprinkled in. SHE LOVED IT! and gobbled it up Now she has a fat happy little belly.

I knew Booey would be a little tricky since he is 13 years old and has been on dry kibble his whole life so what I did was took his bowl away and made him watch Piper eat her food and it drove him crazy. He wanted at her food bowl but I held him back (making him think she was eating something very yummy that he couldn't have) so maybe that would entice him a little. I gave him a little in his bowl and he licked it but didn't eat very much. I'll keep trying.

Attached are some pics of my bags prepared. If anybody has any better / easier storage tips let me
know.

Sounds like its going well! I thought I had read somewhere that you should not feed kibble at the same time due to the speed of one or the other digesting slower then the other. Please keep us posted on your progress and final results of amounts - etc.

Thanks for letting me know. I didn't know that. I put like just 4 little kitten kibbles on top to see if she would eat it and now that I know she likes the raw, no more kibble

I've read conflicting sides to the kibble with raw story. I feed raw and leave the kibble out to free feed between meals (for the girls) and they are absolutely fine. The boys can only eat raw or we have explosive diarrhea so no kibble at all for them!
