Found Sphynx San Antonio

Found a sphynx in our neighborhood 3 days ago and no luck contacting the owner, have put her on the nextdoor app, pawboost, the microchip company and our vet left messages with her. She is spayed and I’m not sure of her age. She is amazing and playful, cuddly and so good with kids. I would keep her myself if we didn’t already have 3 Boston terriers. Please contact if you are interested, I prefer she goes to a home that already has a sphynx.

They think they found the owner, my friend from the humane society cross referenced with the local shelter and they think they have picked her up before, and my reply of course to that is I don’t think they are responsible sphynx owners. My heart is broken and I don’t want her to go back to someone who in 4 days, has yet to respond to the million calls and voicemails. Im really uncomfortable with the thought of her not being safe and getting out again, im still trying to treat her sunburnt little ears and face... her ears feel like rubber and they are bumpy .

Omg yes, I will keep you posted. I seriously can’t stop thinking about how I don’t want her to go back to a home where she isn’t getting the love and attention she needs. I’m taking her to a free pet exam tonight in an hour and a half to see if she is completely healthy. I’ll for sure let y’all know what’s going on with her. Officially my friend from the humane society said she is 7 years old

Please do. This family consists of two guys and their two Sphynx boys. One is an airline steward so he can fly anywhere. They have two of my babies and are WONDERFUL cat parents. They are married so it isn’t a room mate situation either. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a good home for a kitty.

They sound like an absolutely perfect family match for her, if it’s essier I can give you my number or Facebook messenger or something to communicate more. She is still peeling really badly, what is the recommendation for burnt kitty

The humane society should be able to tell you the rules about surrender relinquish times if kitty is not claimed
Do we know if the Owner is actually in town?
I would have the local animal control attempt to make physical contact with the owner to cover all bases .

Perhaps they have a surrender form they can take with them for the owner sign if they would prefer the kitty be placed in a forever home

@April Bishop , let us know how the exa, goes today - you can ask them about leaving her skin alone to heal on its own -
You do not want to use any sun screen or products thst could be toxic if she licks it

My adoptee had severe sun pigmentation. it cleared up on its own
I let his skim do its natural healing before messing with him with potential toxic products .

Many of us keep on hand Vetericyn spray that is good for skin issues and is non toxic

I would let the authorities humane society point you in the right direction
You do not want to get into any possible disputes with neigh or owner.
What did the humane society advise?

The humane society said the owners are careless... they gave me the go ahead to rehome her. I would like to be super selfish and still have her somewhere nearby so I could potentially visit or at least get picture updates. But officially she is considered mine after 72 hours. They also said they could not change the chip information so i would have to call the chip company and see what they say

I’ll keep you posted, as of now her microchip is being transferred to my address, and she just went to my friends house who has EVERY kind of animal. She has two super loving pugs that love cats to try to acclimate her.

I almost cried even thought it’s my very close friend that lives 5 minutes away. And she is already doing so well over there because all her animals are used to each other

@April Bishop That’s great news! I’m so relieved to hear that this poor crispy chicken is on the road to recovery and a loving home!

Perhaps, a small bit of coconut oil would be good to ease any cracking and itching. A little goes a longggg way, and you wouldn’t want her to lick/ingest it. She will also be a dirt magnet until it’s fully absorbed, but she may appreciate the massage time if she’s not in any pain. I do hope she heals soon!

I work at an animal hospital and receive free veterinary care across the board. bW, SX, specialty center care, etc. I like to adopt senior and special needs babies. Also if you hear of any other babies needing homes please contact me!!

Oh my goodness!!! I am a sphynx mommy to two sphynx girls (Gretta and Myrtle) and one Bengal mix boy (Dexter). My cats are my world and they are seriously treated like gold. I wouldn’t love to be considered. I’m in Evansville Indiana but Ann more than willing to make the drive. I know the drive can stress them out but I would have someone with me who would cuddle and play the whole way back.

Hello,

I’m in the San Antonio area and saw your post in the Lost and Found group; and thought it was crazy! That poor baby! I’m happy to hear she is in a loving home now. I couldn’t imagine the pain she was in. My husband is currently begging for a Sphynx so I’m currently looking for him one hopefully for Christmas or Anniversary gift but looking at the adoption/rescue route. So glad she found you and you were able to help her the best way possible! You are her saving grace and angel! Happy to hear of a happy ending!
