Hubby & I are over the top excited about getting our kitten next week. I thought I would share this info for all expecting a kitten…Kittens sleep a LOT during their first year! Their sleep needs gradually decrease as they grow. One reason they sleep SO much is they are growing and the growth hormone is only released while they are sleeping.

Kitten’s Age/Average Sleep Per Day

Newborn (0–2 weeks) 22–23 hours
2–4 weeks 20–22 hours
1–2 months 18–20 hours
2–3 months 18–20 hours
3–4 months 16–20 hours
4–6 months 16–18 hours
6–9 months 15–17 hours
9–12 months 14–16 hours

And great fact about how much kittens sleep. I remember that when I got Toa and Ross I was so worried and thinking something was wrong with them cause all they did was sleeping. Turned out it was just normal lol. So for new kittens servants knowing this will make a big difference in enjoying or worrying
