Have you ever noticed a slight swinging in a cat's tummy area when they walk/run? A flap of loose skin that hangs a bit and is not as supple as the rest of their body? It can look like they lost weight and have skin hanging. This pouch isn't actually fat. It is a flap of thick skin, called the primordial pouch. This pouch evolved to protect cats during fights with one another. Also this pouch allowed for cats to have room for larger meals when they captured large prey. While it isn't possible to get rid of the primordial pouch (sometimes called spay sway) it is possible to help your cat trim and tone this area with regular exercise and proper diet.
