Cats don't pant like dogs. This is because cats rely on grooming, sweating through their paw pads, and seeking cool surfaces to regulate their body temperature. Panting is highly inefficient for felines. If a cat does pant, it is usually a sign of extreme stress, overheating, or a medical emergency.
