Why Cats Shoulder Surf:

Security/Safety: Sitting higher up makes cats feel protected from any perceived ground-level threats, and most agree that this behavior shows your cat views you as a trusted, safe spot.

Being Higher: A higher view point gives cats the ability to observe more of their environment. Being elevated satisfies their natural hunting/survival instincts.

Affection/Closeness/Attention: Cats that ride shoulders are often outgoing, confident, and very eager to be as close to you as they can be. They want your full attention and love.

@Catzzzmeow awh, thanks for modeling Ochi! with great FFF! yes, definitely can relate to the parrot sphynx and scratches with my previous nakids. those moments I miss and have no regrests.

Batman and Claire Bare rather steal, claim my pillows at night and cuddle tight against me. one on the left, one on the right.. lol

is there a FFF why cats hog pillow and smoosh me at night ? have a purrfect weekend, hugs n head smooches

My kitty would sit on my shoulder while I prepared supper. Every time I would cut a vegetable I would hold it up for her to smell. I sure miss her!
