Do you ever go shopping? Have kids? Take them to school? Daycare? Live life? Because basically- that's how ringworm gets transmitted. You don't have to do anything special except touch a spot Usomeone else touches and then touch your cats. You might not get it, but a hairless cat in particular will pick it up pretty easily.
Um, you may want to purchase some Healthguard products. I have them and LOVE them. One, you can toss a teaspoonful in your wash and it will keep fabrics (and I use it with all blankets, bedding in the house- including HUMAN bedding) from transmitting the ringworm. Just washing the blankets doesn't always work.

Just as a note...
As a Sphynx owner, it wouldn't hurt to get the Healthguard spray and if you notice something funny, you can start spraying it per the directions, until you can get in and have a scraping done.
I use the shampoo after cat shows and the spray in between the shows and the hotels and home.

I never thought about how much a Shypnx must be exposed at shows or when meeting small crowds of fans who want to pet them. Without that layer of hair they lose quite a bit of protection. When you say you use the "spray" are you talking about the dry shampoo or medicated spray?

There is a spray that is a preventative as well as helps if they catch it- at least as far as I understand it. I have the kitten spray as well as the adults and will at times use it on kittens (like coming home from the vet if I don't have time for a bath or after kids have handled them). I may be a little paranoid though

I had one more question for you. In my findings around the net on pet health blogs , etc. I came across an interesting piece on "raw diet" and veterinarians recommending deworming your cat or dog more frequently then normal due to raw diet. By any chance do you feed raw? I am going to start up a thread this weekend on this very subject to ask some of our raw feeders if there vet has recommended more frequent deworming.

No, we don't feed raw. We feed the Castor and Pollux duck food, and Science Diet wet food.
