I'm going to NY for at least 10 days. This will be the first time I've left my babies. I'm sure I will have sphynx withdrawl. I'm so worried about leaving them. I know it's going to be harder on me than them. I will miss the snuggling, sphynx stretches and just all their crazy antics.

I live in NY so first off, welcome and I hope you have a great time here :)
Second, I'm sure your babies will miss you but they will be ok. Are you leaving them with someone or having someone check up on them?

Are you coming to NY for business or pleasure? Nothing like NY :) just got back from vacation and I fully understand the anxiety of leaving the kitties behind. I see someone asked who is watching them. Perhaps they can Skype/FaceTime with you a few times so you can see them. I was able to do this because my mother in law would stop to play with them. It made me relax more seeing it was business as usual and Loki really was looking okay. You probably saw my post, but I also print out pics of mine to prop up in my hotel room... Just a nice reminder than just viewing pics on phone etc.

My parents have a summer home there. My father had a heart attack and I'm flying up there and driving them back home. I'm going to take some pics with me. I'm definitely going to check on FaceTime.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he is alright. If you can get the extra time, I hope you can have some
fun, and relaxation. Your babies will be in great hands, I'm sure.

They have a house right on the beach, so I plan to take many walks. I love just sitting on the beach looking at the water. It's just so peaceful. It's probably going to be a shock, weather wise.

Not sure if you have access to FaceTime on your phone but if not, sign up for Skype...it's FREE! When I travel I always FaceTime with the kitties and Emma.

PM me any questions on what works...I have trouble shooted them all ROFL!

I've been giving my husband all kinds of scenarios to see what he would do. I think I'm driving him crazy. I'm going to try and figure out the FaceTime tonight.

Aww, I know exactly what you mean. I have such a difficult time leaving my babies. All I do is think of them. Ten days is a long time. Hopefully you will be busy enough so that you are not thinking about them constantly. Too bad you are going to be so far away from where I am in NY. I would have loved to meet up with you and let you have some sphynx lovin' from my boys and Sissy! :) I'm sure you are going to take photos or at least have them in your cell phone and look at them day and night like I do when I'm away. :)

I think I'm taking every picture I have of them. Everyone I know is sick of looking at them, least I'll have a new audience.

Sorry to hear about your dad, praying for comfort for all. Try to enjoy your time in NY. the weather has been great and the autumn colors are peaking. Get some cider and donuts!

Definitely donuts! They have the best donuts ever. I'll probably come back a little heavier. I'm already planning everything I want to eat. Things I can't get here. Can't wait for a real pizza!

What type of food do you like? I can probably recommend some places to you if you want :)

I like Italian, Polish anything ethnic . Anything good no matter what. Im looking for something different than southern food. Thanks. I really appreciate it.

ok so here is a variety of things which are pretty well known and which I really love! also, they are all located in NYC so I probably should have asked you first if this is where you were going lol but even if you aren't, at least you have a list for the future

The Meatball Shop- there is a location in Brooklyn or in the Lower East Side
Eataly- It's a big Italian market place with over 6 restaurants inside, all specifically catered to one specific type of dish (ex- pizza&pasta, fish, veggie, gelato, coffee). I actually worked here when they first opened haha it is amazing to even go look around in!
Doughnut Plant- If you like donuts and are looking for the best one (in my opinion), visit them! They also have 2 locations
Two Little Red Hens- A tiny bakery with the MOST amazing red velvet cake!! (my mom is obsessed with red velvet cake & she agreed that this was the best one she has ever tried)
Shake Shack- It's the big rave here lately lol they're known for their burgers & have many locations around

these are the ones that come to mind at the moment
if you have trouble searching any of them or have any questions, feel free to ask me! hope this helps :)
