Tomorrow's the big day. They're taking ButterBall's manhood away. Wish him luck! Luckily he ate and drank a bunch earlier. They said no food or water after 9PM. So at 8:30 I opened up the treat bag and gave him alot more than usual. Then he went straight for his water.

I'm about to take away ButterBall's catnip. That little sucker goes nuts. He runs around attacking everything. Attacking the fake plants, attacking my legs and attacking the chair. He's been going like a bat out of hell for the last hour. And all he did was sniff the catnip toy I made for him a few days ago. He jumped up on my shorts and dug his hind claws in. Since I've lost a few pounds recently my shorts are loose. Anyway, my shorts ended up falling to my ankles. That little maniac.

Good luck Butterball! He'll have a new streamlined profile and be more aerodynamic now! Make sure you let us know how he does tomorrow afternoon. Even though I knew he would be fine, I was a ball of nerves when i took Walter for surgery...Just the way it is when we care so much about our babies, i guess!

Good luck to the ButterBrat (at least when it comes to the catnip) and congrats on your weight loss (I think?).

Well, you guys were right. It didn't phase him one bit. Couldn't have been better. They gave me two little syringes of pain meds but I don't know what they are. He was going nuts in the collar they put on him. I couldn't bear to see him like that so I took it off. I thought he was going to hurt himself with that thing on. He hadn't messed with the affected area so I think he'll be alright.

It's funny. My vet actually had a female sphynx too. She was like "that's too bad" because she wanted to breed hers. I told her that would be super cool but unfortunately I promised my breeder I wouldn't. All in all, it was great. The people at the office were super cool and had a million questions for me. I asked them "how many sphynx's have you seen?" They said besides the vets sphynx, this was the first. I knew they were pretty rare, but I really thought they would have seen them before. I couldn't be more satisfied right now.

Oh and my weight has fluctuated from 145 to 165 over the last year or so. I guess I'm getting back down to the 145 range.

Glad to hear that ButterBall is doing well, but I had no doubt that he'd be fine after the procedure. I bet you feel relieved that it's done and over with!

ElGato, just curious, did ButterBall get any bruises like Walter did? Man, I wish I had taken photos of it, it looked HORRIBLE! I'm just curious if this is common...

Re: Going to the vet (pics added)

ButterBall has no bruises yet. Then again if he's anything like me, they probably won't show up until tomorrow. I took some pics. I think the collar makes him look funny.

Aw!! Poor Ball!! Walter didn't get an e- collar, he would have been so mad, and I would have taken it off anyway!

If he doesn't have the bruises now, he probably won't get em...Walter came home with them. Weird, huh?

Great thinking with the gauze around the neck to protect him. When Meecho had hers it was chaffing her so bad that I sacrificed one of my spa socks that were made of chenille ( i think that's how you spell it) to make her a turtle neck out of it to stop the scrapes.
