Hansel , my Cornie and his Leg..

I posted a story about his boo boo. My Cornish Rex Hansel. He is such a good cat ! The stiches are still in from his biobsy and it has healed so good .... it just looks good .
But i knew before we even went to the Doc, that its bad. The Biobsy came back today and we got a call tonight from the Vet.
Its the dreaded word Cancer.
I been balling my eyes out since my husband told me ( i am glad they didnt call me, because i would have lost it ) .
She urged us to make the appointment soon to get it all and a bit more removed from his leg, its right where the dew thing is in the back. She removed most for the biobsy, but she said , that more will have to come out in order to be sure to get it all. She said, he will be funny looking . We dont care, we love him and to a lot of people, he is funny looking already, some say he looks like a kangaroo . His appointment is next Thursday early morning I will bring him in and late at night or other morning we can pick him up again. ( depends on how he is doing ) .
She said it would be not so bad for him with anestisia , better then last.
He will not need Chemo ( thank god because i dont think we could afford it ) because of the type of Cancer that it is.
He just healed up so good from the biobsy and now he has to get cut much more though. I am so worried about him still.
He is my ole man, he is the Reason i have a Sphynx ! oh wait we have 2 Sphynx now !
If you could keep him in your Prayers and or thoughts and keep some Paws crossed for him. I thank you all !! And Hansel does too.

Assi, I've already began to pray for Hansel (and you) as well as sending good energy to MI.
I want to tell you a story about my chocolate lab Hazel when she was alive: When Hazel was still young, I had to put my golden retriever down and I literally cried every day for months. She was 13 1/2 years old.
About a year or less after I put my golden Goldie down, Hazel had a lump on one leg. I was so worried it was cancer and I just knew that I couldn't lose another dog so soon.
Well, my vet did surgery and said that he was confident that he got it all. Bless his wonderful hands because he did get it all. He assured me that it wouldn't come back for sure.
Well about a year later, Hazel's other leg, yes...her other leg developed a lump (cancer again) and I had the same vet do the surgery. And again, he got it all. Hazel never had another problem and never needed chemo or any treatments afterwards and she lived to be 14 years old.
I hope my story about Hazel gives you hope. If you feel absolutely confident with your vet doing the surgery, then I say go for it and that too will make me feel confident that Hansel will do just fine. Hazel's lump was much, much bigger than Hazel's and it was hard as a rock. That's how I knew it was cancer.
I will be praying a lot for you and Hansel. Please dry your tears...Hansel is not in danger. It's not in his stomach, etc. It's on his foot/leg and your vet doesn't have to open him up and hope that it's all taken out. It's not on a fatty part of his body. Your vet will see it all once it's cut open and remove every bit of it.

Lair prayers are sent. It is great news that chemo is not needed. I could tell you were bracing for the worst but hearing the diagnosis is still devastating, but for Hansel, it was just another wonderful , happy day filled with love. So more days like that are all Hansel wants we are here for you.

Im sorry to read that Hansel has cancer. It sounds like that vet has a good handle on what is going on and sounds like she knows how to treat it, which is a good thing. We'll all be praying for a speedy and complete recovery for Hansel and that you can find some peace with what is going on. I hope everything works out well and that Hansel isn't in too much pain. I think this warrants extra snuggles for the both of you.

thanks !!!!!! Hes been acting really strange we think. He puked last night and today too and he rarely does that . Today he also kept gnawing on his leg . We are worried but try to stay in good spirits. I know our Vet takes really good care of him .......

I drop Hansel off at 9 am. I do not know the time they will be working on him. I think probably early in the morning hours. She told us already, pick up is not till later in the evening. Art is working not even 1 mile from the Vet, so he will visit at his Lunch hour. I was going to take the Day off, but then I thought, i would not be good no where . I rather have Friday off and stay home with him.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers and everything else.... it means a lot to us.
