Happy Astor News!

I wanted to start a new thread for happy news

Just wanted to share that Astor's appetite has been very good!



After leaving the vet's office yesterday, Astor ate nearly an entire can of wet k/d food.



So far today he has eaten 1/2 cup of dry food and 1/2 can of wet. I would be very surprised if he didn't finish the wet tonight. Also, I'll be giving him his first dose of famotadine (to help ease any nausea) tonight, so his appetite has been great even without the medication.



Lots of water, too! I'm very proud of his efforts

Yay thats great news! I hope its only good progress from now on, he is certainly chomping away!

Brief meeting with the Dr this morning to pick up a couple of extra supplements.

He was *thrilled* to hear about (and see on YouTube!) how well Astor is doing.

We are still waiting on the urine culture--hopefully it turns up positive, that would mean that his kidney issues were caused by a simple bacterial (curable!!!) infection.

However, we do have NEGATIVES on: FeLV, FIV and Toxoplasmosis.

Astor's ELISA FIP test did show that he has coronavirus antibodies, but that alone means very little. The doctor did not seem concerned about FIP (dry form) as a likely diagnosis, and from the research I've done, his symptoms do not fit well with FIP.


Anyway, Astor was super peppy last night--lots of jumping around, grooming, eating and drinking water (he has about eight different bowls and cups of fresh water littered around the living room and he just bounces around between them all!).


He is no longer hiding and his goofball attitude is returning.




If nothing else, he feels soooo much better!

I will keep you all updated. I can't tell you how helpful all of my SphynxLair friends have been

Indecisive Astor last night...

He was sleeping in his cat condo (into which I stuffed one of his many soft beds--he loves it) and heard me making some noises in the other room. When I came back to the living room, he had stuck out his front leg in an attempt to get up, but he was also pretty sleepy

What a dilemma!

He sat like this for a few minutes, then decided he needed to check out the rest of the apartment after all
