Thank you! I'm really nervous but also kind of hopeful. He's back to acting his normal self so maybe his treatment plan is working nicely for him. Will be sure to update you guys soon tomorrow.

@skunkfoot , just an idea to pass along since you will be taking Spaghetti to a cardiologist - ask lots of questions especially with a specialist :)

I would include asking for information about HCM , mediaction treatment plans effective in their experience , grades of HCM , and feline aortic thromboembolisms that is not often talked about .
I know you and I have both lost our sweetie babies to clots in the past ((hugs))).
I am curious if there is new research and information on clots from a specialist
(My vet gave me strict instructions for aspirin therapy when she would throw a clot -
I wish I had known about it before hand)

It is good news he is acting his normal self :) yah !
Often times Our lair kitties Have some grade of of HCM / detected murmurs , and live long happy lives with treatment plans.

Positive vibes and lots of lovin sent (((hugs)))

Looking forward to your update tomorrow

I'm screen shotting this and asking all of these questions tomorrow. Thank you so much!!!!
That's great about the aspirin, we were never told about that. With my last kitty, she had a clot but it quickly resolved right before we took her back in. But the vet had just told us it was a matter of time before it happened again, and when it did, that would be the end :(

@skunkfoot, will be right there in thought with positive vibes for Spaghetti- (((hugs))
I know that pitter patter feeling dealing with HCM too-
Sometimes I got home from the vet and forgot what I wanted to ask-
So now I write down some questions

The great thing is Spaghetti is acting his happy self :)

here for you!

Fwiw, I still keep the baby aspirin at a seconds length of reach just in case.

*It happen so often and the aspirin therapy helped - I actually could tell when a clot was coming on -
*** She would start walking shaking her rear foot like litter was stuck on it - her rear extremities would start to feel cool too

I would scoop her up in a blanket to keep her warm and start the aspirin therapy-and hold her till she bounced back out of it - literally before I could even get her to the vet she was up like nothing happened . She would breathe quietly in my arms - interestingly with the aspirin therapy administered Asap she did not do the gutteral pain meowing - Yoda slept in my arms in her blankie on the bed together - then boom .. She would jump up and run to the food dish to eat amd go play.

Wow that's awesome that it worked so well for you! I will keep my eye out for those symptoms. When my little girl was diagnosed I bought a bunch of heated beds to try and keep her extremities warm too so that's another great idea. Precious thankfully didn't show any signs of pain either, she would just purr and then pop back up just like your little Yoda haha

I'm glad Spaghetti is home and I hope the cardiologist has good news (fingers crossed). I lost my baby to HCM, but had a great cardiologist who was very attentive and I had three great years with my naked through meds and echos, etc. Hopefully through continued research we can eradicate this terrible disease.... or at least figure out how to combat it better.... In the mean time HUGS and LOVE

So his appointment went great! Xray showed no fluid on his lungs and his pulmonary vein was nice and small (normal sized). So the treatment plan he is on is doing great for him right now! She decreased the potassium gluconate that he is on and said we will meet again in 30 days to reassess. His blood work will come back tomorrow to show how his kidneys are holding up. Since he is so young they should be doing well, so fingers crossed! His blood pressure has been pretty low which she didn't love but we are going to keep an eye on that. Eventually she wants to start him on atenolol but we are going to wait for the 30 day check up so he has a nice period of stability first.

I asked about the aspirin therapy and she said that she likes to do either just plavix or just aspirin therapy. According to her, plavix has had better results at avoiding clots for longer periods of time. But if we start to have clot issues we can start lovenox injections for treatment. Overall I'm super happy right now. He was totally the life of the party and was eating up all the attention. The doctor was very pleased with his happy attitude and she seemed hopeful we will have some time still together. Thank you all for thinking of us <3

In case you think X-rays are cool. This showing that his lungs are clear, his heart is obviously enlarged but there is nothing we can do about that.

And us getting treats in the car afterwards. He's cool as a cucumber
