We are back at the ER vet this morning. Noticed high respirations last night but was hoping it was because of the increased temperature yesterday (we are currently going through a heat wave). His respirations were even higher this morning and showing difficulty breathing again like when we first brought him in. It's super busy here this morning but hopefully we will know what's going on soon. His lungs were clear and blood work looked good last Wednesday.

Sorry to hear you need to go back to the emergency vet. All fingers and paws crossed it will turn out to be okay with Spaghetti. Sending healing vibes. Thinking if you.

Thanks everyone. We are still waiting, they've had a few emergencies come in the door since we got here. He is in oxygen right now and said he's not any worse than when he got here

The fluid in his lungs is back. Which is very unexpected since just Wednesday his lungs were clear and we haven't changed his meds at all. He is still on oxygen and has had two injections of lasix in addition to his normal dose. They are going to try a different kind of diuretic on him too to help. Going back in 4 hours to see how he is doing and hopefully bringing him home. All of this medication is really hard on his kidneys but at this point we are not going to work about that and focus on immediate symptoms and what keeps him the most comfortable. The vet is very concerned since just a few days ago he was showing good signs. She said it's not a good sign that he's back so soon and that his case is severe. I am very scared at this point.
It's not like my last cat, Precious. She slowly declined over time and I knew when the end was near. Spaghetti, despite his higher than normal heart rate, is acting completely normal. Running around with the kittens and being his happy self. I don't know how I'm going to know when it's time to say goodbye. I just want him to be happy and I'm not ready to lose him. :(

@skunkfoot they always do give us signs. It's mostly with their eyes telling us that they've had enough. I hope you can bring him home tonight. I'm praying for you both. Hugs.

We haven't headed up there yet but will be on our way in a few mins. Just got off the phone with the doctor, she said that even though Spaghetti has been in oxygen all day, he is still breathing heavily. She highly recommended that he spend the night there under oxygen, hopefully giving his body more time to respond. If he isn't better by morning... I don't know what we are going to do. Things are sounding really bad right now.

@skunkfoot oh no! Must be so difficult to hear he's still breathing heavily. Hopefully the oxygen will help him through the night and everything will be better tomorrow. Sending more healing vibes to Spaghetti. Come on boy, we can't miss you.
Big hug for you

Oh I am so sorry @skunkfoot ❤️❤️
Sending you and spaghetti so many hugs, and prayers. I hope overnight with the extra oxygen will help.
So nice you bright him his blankie, and he is in good hands at the vet.

My heart goes out to you and please know you are in our hearts and prayers.
