Hello! I live in Houston and would LOVE to talk to you more about this baby. We have a 4 year-old torty sphynx named Gooch and a 10.5 year-old very sweet and gentle senior dog who loves kitties and critters. I also have a 4 year-old son and 6 year-old daughter. Please feel free to reach out to me directly!! Sara Costlow: [email protected].

Our sweet Sphynx bambino boy was born on June 3, 2020, so he's just under 5 years old. He's in great health with no known health issues or symptoms and has been a cherished member of our family. He’s a lover of cuddles, napping, and generally being around people. He's great with kids, dogs, and other cats, though I think he'd do really well in a home where the humans were entirely dedicated to him.

We brought him home in 2020 in the thick of the pandemic, so our lives were in an unusual place where we were stuck at home. As a family, traveling has always been a core part of our identity, but we've always included our animals when we could or left them with loving family members for less common international travel. When we go to visit my family in Texas, we drive from California to Texas so we can take them with us. We also modified our camper trailer to have a cat room and a litter box compartment so we could take them with us on months-long camping trips. This has worked beautifully for our other two pets because they seem to enjoy the adventure and they get tons of love and focused attention, more than they get at home because we're in a smaller space with fewer responsibilities.

It's become abundantly clear that the travel and instability is not a good fit for him, despite everything we've tried to help him adapt. He's stressed by the long drives and doesn't do well with constantly changing his environment (a few months in our house, a few months camping, a few weeks at my parents house, a month staying with a wonderful cat sitter while we were abroad, etc). He stops eating or drinking, cries the whole time we're driving, hides for days at a time, and occasionally pees in inappropriate places.

We fully recognize it's our fault for putting him in an unstable environment and I feel like a monster writing this--but we've crafted our whole lives around being nomadic--we have remote jobs, our kids are homeschooled, etc.

We've tried adapting our travel to have bigger gaps at home, anxiety meds for him, letting him consistently stay at home with the same caretaker, and a variety of steps to try to make the travel more comfortable for him...but none of it has helped and it's clear we're not being fair to him.

This has all come to a head now because my husband's job is relocating us internationally in a few months. We have to be out of our current house by the end of April. The process to import pets into the country is complicated and not pleasant for the animals as it's two flights (one of them 13 hours) plus being in a quarantine facility. I'm not willing to put him through all of that knowing that we're not the best home for him anyway. It would be selfish and unfair to him.

I can't exaggerate how sweet and loving he is. He'd do well with someone who will let him sleep in the bed. He's also incredibly in tune with people's feelings in a way I've never quite seen with another animal--if one of my kids cries for any reason, he sprints from wherever he is in the house to coo at them and climb onto their laps. He often takes a few days to warm to new people, but always comes around to start cuddling.

We're currently located in San Diego, but would be willing to drive pretty far to get him to the right home--he doesn't like the long drives but it would be worth it one more time for him to be settled and loved. We're looking for someone who's going to give him the stability and snuggles he deserves.

I am relocating to Oceanside and would love to adopt him in March. We have a 4 year old female sphinx who is in need of a buddy! We are homebodies and love our cuddles with our current baby! Just 2 of us at home, no kids and our single cat has all of our attention!

Hello! I saw this post about your beautiful boy, I wanted to ask if he’d do well in a clan of nice, loving, well behaved kitties?

I have 6 of my own and do foster cats but am always home. Me and my man will be moving in early January so I would want to make sure if we are a possibility that it would be after moving to our new place to ensure he gets comfortable and have that stability he needs.

Only two of mine are a bit older both around 3 yrs. The others are 7 months (two bonded siblings and a kitten I adopted who’s unrelated but is just as bonded to them)

They do well with introductions as long as it’s semi slow and the other cat is also submissive enough to allow for them to sniff and be curious with boundaries.

I’d love to get in touch to talk more about your sweet boy!

Also wanted to say that sphynxs have been a dream cat of mine since a little girl, I’ve done research on the breed and understand the importants they need, including grooming needs, temperature control, also knowing about specific genetic health issues they can possibly inherit as well.

My number is 661-607-7030 and my email is [email protected]

Thank you for the time you’ve took to read through this-Violette
