Hello from Alabama

Hi all, I joined several years ago and have used this as a valuable resource many times since getting our sphynx in January 2011. I just decided I would finally introduce ourselves! This is Juno, who was born August 23, 2010. She is a nut, and I don't think we could possibly love her any more!

Formal hellos to you too! How could you keep this beauty from us for so long?!! She has such expressive eyes. Hope you decide to join in more and post. We see many new owners this time of year/Spring it is great to have experienced owners with real time advice.

I'm pretty sure I just died of cute. I am a total large breed dog person in addition to being a sphynx person, so now I am jealous. Our current schedules are just not compatible with dogs...or my house would totally look like that. Only with 3 sphynes and a regular tortie.

I understand, I couldn't live without my big, sweet doggies. We have Mazey, our 10 year old pit bull (who happens to be Juno's best friend in the entire world), Atlas the 8 year old Dane/boxer mix, and Rhaegar, our Cane Corso puppy. We occasionally foster a Great Dane or Corso too. It's a house full! I bet having three sphynxes is so much fun! Lol, Juno is like a toddler, always keeping us on our toes!

We brought Juno home at 16 weeks, and within 24 hours, she was pretty comfortable around my pit bull (the only dog I had at the time). Then within a week they were cuddling together. Hope it goes just as well for your babies!

Juno is lovely, and I am jealous about the compatibility between your pets (as , after 6 months, Gaz, my sphynx and older calico still aren't even close to being buddies) Where in Alabama are you? I live in northern Alabama in Huntsville.

I was actually born and raised right outside of Hunstsville (in Owens Cross Roads), but we currently live in Auburn while I'm in school. If it makes you feel better, Juno isn't a big fan of our other cat, a regular fuzzy kitty, even though he likes her, lol. I swear Juno thinks she's a dog, she LOVES all of our dogs and warms up to new dogs really quickly, but is always really cranky with other cats. Some cats she tolerates better than others, and she will occasionally allow our other cat to cuddle her, but other times she'll smack him for no reason if she's especially grumpy. I used to work in a vet clinic, and if I needed to bring the kids in for any reason, Juno would scream nonstop in her kennel until I put her in the kennel with her dog siblings. Then she would settle right away and go to sleep. She is such a dog, lol.

And if everyone hasn't figured this out yet, I take a lot of pictures, haha.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! The last two members of my menagerie told me their feeling were hurt because I introduced everyone but them. So here is Gadget, our 13 year old fuzzy kitty, and Ryu, our 3 year old bearded dragon. Gadget also loves the dogs and likes Juno, but Juno doesn't like Gadget, lol. Juno is also not impressed with Ryu. And that's all the pets we have, I swear!
